i wanna here what you think on something. How do you know God really exists? we grow up in a society were 2+2=4, but if we were to grow up in a society were they said 5+9= 1 then we would believe them because we wouldn't have anything else to show that there is a difference, but what if we are living a lie, we have grown up in this to society that says God is real, if we were to grow up somewhere else that said God didn't exist then we would believe them and say that anyone else who differs is talking crap. So to some up how do we know he really exists and that it isn't the society filling our heads with a load of crap. For me i believe in God but i wanna here what YOU think on all of this.

I was 36 years old when i felt God, I felt his presence and I have never been the same since.
I do not need anyone to tell me about God, I know without a doubt that he is real.

What I think is that I can look all around me and see created things but I have no explanation on my own as to who created them, just that there is a creator, somewhere.

I hear others talk about we may have just bang, one day existed as some sort of cell and evolved from that. But for our own definition of evolve means that we must continue to evolve for the better or evolution does not fit its own definition.

For if we evolved from some sort of mass, we wouldnt to this day need to find another of our own kind to reproduce. It is silly by scientific standards to believe that we evolved in such a way as to need to find another of our kind to continue the evolution.

So, I am left back looking at the sky and knowing somewhere out there is the answer to my existence and it has to be my creator.

I call him God, he has been called by many names.
This much I know. The rest I choose to believe, and that is the written word of how I was created and why I was created.

All other answers seem to be one mans opinion and others following that opinion.

The word of God has many authors all with the same belief and most never knew each other or even lived in the same time period.

That is what I think.
Thanks for asking.

God is very real; but God doesn't exist like some bearded old guy in the sky who blesses some people and curses others. That's an entirely man-made notion. God exists as the life within all creation. God exists in you, in me, in those we love, in those we hate. If we pray to God for this or that thing to happen, then it's up to us to work so that it does happen. God isn't some kind of a side-show magician ready to do our bidding if we're good boys and girls. We have to get away from narrow-minded notions of God.

u can not know for sure that God is real (but he does give us some pretty good evidence) that is the definition of FAITH. at least in science. i would say that i know for sure that he is real and he is in and around us, but this is a part of my faith. but i dont think thats what ur asking. no, science cannot prove god, but in ur faith u can know for sure in ur mind that god is real. If u think about, has there ever been in all of history a society that was strictly athiest and no one believed in a god. no. every society and civilization has come up with some type of idea of how everything came to be. and they worshipped this diety. so we can not be put in a society that doesnt believe in a god. this is just of gods in general, the Christian God has not always been worshipped, but he is one of the most widely worshipped.

Read the Bible, and accept the word of God as the truth. That is the only way. Thank God that we did grow up to believe that there is a God, so that we can go to Heaven, isn't that what it is all about? Where do the muslims go when they die? I want to go to Heaven, I want to believe. Like Brooks and Dunn, there is more to life than a slow ride in a hearse.

Well, that might be more true in other societies, but with religious freedom now, we have the freedom to choose. The only way to know God is real is to examine the issue impartially. For myself, I have seen the truth of God's Word, the Bible, proved many times in my life, and seen Him work amazing things, even outright miracles for me. Trust me, I wouldn't believe in Him just because my parents did.

Newsflash: We DON'T know that ANY god exists. That's the point. And by the way, there are lots of societies that DON'T believe in the same God you do, because they were raised differently.

P.S. Back to spelling class with you.

I guess so I think lot of people take on the religion or none religion of they're parents. Also like in the US Christianity is probably the most popular religion there where as in Arab countries people probably mostly follow Islam. But there r a lot of people who's parents might religious but they're kids aren't or the other way around. My Mum is a Christian but I'm an agnostic dunno what the rest or the family is but they're r some Christians in r family. There's so many religions and some people believe and others don't, I feel we really dunno what is out there.

Any time I hear "God" and "society" in the same conversation, it reaffirms for me that organized religion is more concerned with social control than spiritual enlightenment.

For me, I separate God and organized religion. I recommend that you take some time to do the same. Anytime you hear a church figure tell you to do something (or not do something) take a moment and evaluate. Is this person really trying to guide me to what God wants? Or is the same social control that many religions have tried to maintain for centuries?

Well it's pretty significant that those who recognize His existence are those who at least have felt Him working in their lives, and of course those who know Him personally; while those who are ignorant of His existence are those who have not yet personally experienced Him in any way. Given that billions of people have experienced God in their lives, those who have not yet done so would do well to ask Him to reveal Himself, rather than adopting the irrational position. "if I haven't personally experienced something, it can't exist".
