Please don't try to do it yourself. Over the counter wormers are usually good for only one type of worm. You will need to take a stool sample to the vet to find out what kind of worms, if any, he or she has, The the vet will worm the dog at the same time your pup gets the first set of vaccinations.

Was she dewormed by the person you bought (or got) her from? If she was, when did they do it? Puppies need to be dewormed about every 2-3 weeks until they are 4-6 months old. You can do the deworming yourself, just buy the dewormer from a veterinarian's office. The dewormer from Wal-mart doesn't work. If you don't feel comfortable deworming her yourself, you can have your veterinarian do it. Also, has she had her first set of puppy shots? You will need to get her 4 sets of puppy vax, approximately 1 month apart. They need their vax at 6, 9, 12, & 15 weeks of age, although some people don't recommend it until they are 8, 11, 14, & 17 weeks old.

The "over the counter" dewormers do not work. You need a dewormer from the Vet. Your puppy needs to be checked by a Vet and started on a vaccination schedule along with checking for worms, and a over-all health exam.
The breeder should have provided a copy of the puppy's health exam including a fecal (stool check), health findings, and vaccinations.
If your puppy has not been to the Vet yet, yes you need to go now. Worms can kill puppies/dogs.

I would call the vet and find out at what age you should deworm your puppy. For the first deworm I would get the deworming medication from the vet as they will base it on the puppies size. As far as I know if the puppy receives too much medication they can become dehydrated.

Deworming for a puppy should be on the foloowing sched. 2, 4, 6 & 8 weeks and then periodically afterwards. Please see your vet for appropriate dewormer for your puppy. Don't use OTC products they are ineffective, may not be for the worms you need to rid the puppy of and also they can be dangerous.

Yes it is time to deworm your dog. You can get the dewormer and do it yourself. You can get dewormer from pet supply stores or directly from your vet.But if you have never done it before you might want your vet to do it. The dewormer medication does have dosage directions.

You will most likely be taking the pup to the vet to get her shots, right? Then the vet will check her for worms then and worm her if needed. Shots are very important!

It should have been wormed BEFORE you got it!!!
TWICE!!!
What sort of irresponsible jerk did you get it from?? OBVIOUSLY a REAL as*-hole since it's also TOO YOUNG!!!!
Do *NOT* take it to VET-take a STOOL SAMPLE!!!
**IF** any parasites are found,THEY will give you the CORRECT meds *&* correct DOSAGE for THAT worm!
Do *NOT* waste any money on "OTC" CRAP!!! It DOESN'T WORK!
