Wouldent that be cheaper then building a fence? Isnt that why we have a National Gaurd?What good are they if thay cant kick some butt?

I agree . Why do we have our national guard just siting there?they need to be hunting and chasing any one sneaking over.Some one need to tell mexicos governmentto shut up and keep their trash in Mexico!

The National Guard or Reserves were actually one of the first ones to be called to duty when all this started. Why do you want them to fight here in the United States? Fight whom? The National Guard protected our airports and any other facilities when 911 happened. Being in the military is not all about "kicking butt."

It's a states' rights issue. The National Guard can be mustered up in service to the country, but deploying them in a state requires the state legislature's approval. If the legislature isn't in session, the governor's approval. It's so the Federal government can't simply make a unilateral decision to attack its own citizens. Even so, the President remains Commander-in-Chief and retains control of the military. I think he can refuse to deploy the National Guard within a state even if asked to do so.

If you would like a see a war between the US and Mexico then having the National Guard shot to kill at the border would be the way to go. I personally prefer to spend time with my family and therefore, being deployed to Iraq is enough for me. I dont want to go to Iraq for a year and then go to Mexico for a year.

Agreed. The border patrol agents who do their jobs r also being imprisioned. Nothing is fair since the year 2000.
