hey action, personally, i think there is no way a crooked cop can get away with it because sooner or later every one on "the force" realises whats going on, therefor by your reasoning, all cops are crooked.
(the really stupid ones might not realise it but here is a question for cops on this site, are you crooked or stupid?)

The police have a sacred duty and set an example for the youth of this country. With the farce of the drug wars there has not been this much corruption in law enforcement since the last prohibition in the 1920's and 30's. You would think that experience would have shown that all a prohibition does is open the door for the Al Capones of the world to make a mockery of justice and the courts. Drugs are easier for kids to get than alcohol is. And after 30 years and 79 TRILLION DOLLARS DRUGS ARE CHEAPER, STRONGER, AND EASIER TO ACQUIRE than when Richard Nixon started the so called drug wars. Corruption in law enforcement all the way to the top is at an all time high. The so called drug wars are "the very definition of failed policy" If this enormous amount of money had been used for education and rehabilitation an incredible amount of good would have resulted. Instead we now have a "prison industry" and the land of the free has the most prisoners of any country in the world. Convicting a bad cop is almost impossible because other cops will not testify, or they lie if they have to. The police refuse to take drug testing and fight it desperately if it is even mentioned. Why could that possibly be? Why is the bagger at the grocery store drugtested but the guys with the guns and the evidence rooms that are constantly missing evidence not tested? And on the extremely rare occassion that a cop is convicted the sentences are almost always light. The main reasn is that if you put a cop in prison he wont live long enough to to get a few days in.. There is an organization called LEAP. This stands for Law Enforcement Against Prohibition.Go to their website and see the real truth about drugs and the law.

Honestly, I'm not really sure what you can possibly do because police officers are like a very tight knit family and unless there is 1 cop that is willing to stand up to the corrupt ones there's nothing we can really do. If the cop finds out you spoke out against them if they r really bad I don't know if it's worth having a cop on your bad side. I know a couple of areas around my county where cops are paid off by drug dealers to look the other way but the only way that they are cleaning up the force of these cops is when a new police chief was put into effect and he cracked down on the dealers and the cops. It's your best bet to try to contact your local representative or you could try to go to Internal Affairs but even that's playing with fire. Either way just be careful.

This is what you do, dear: Go to the police station, ask for a grievance form, review your civil rights (as you may find more violations to complain about), write your statement, swear it, turn it in, in person (*always* demand a receipt), or send it certified mail. Most places will not honor a grievance sent in the mail. They always want a "chance to talk with yout first", which you should decline.
Wait a few weeks for Internal Affairs to find no basis. Take your statement to the office of the mayor, and legislators. Do not be discouraged, because you placed a copy of the complaint in the officer's personnel file, and may have added the drop that will overflow the cup.
As for the attacks here, dismiss them as part of the same abusive mentality perpetuated by cops. They'll never take the blame, and will always put the guilt on the victim. That is what sociopathic abusers do, united in pods
No fear, no intimidation, friend! Good luck

"extraordinarily much each physique i comprehend has bumped right into a crooked cop" anybody you comprehend - extraordinarily much? and you have validated the reality of their claims by what potential? of direction it quite is complicated to have self belief that each physique is responsible, yet regardless of the undeniable fact which you're no longer asserting that law enforcement officers have been crooked to anybody - basically extraordinarily much anybody you comprehend. you are able to nicely be a individual who hangs out with the incorrect crowd. "do no longer you think of our law enforcement officials could have some variety of reproduction for no longer working in incontinence to the regulation?" i might could wager that they have already got a duplicate - it quite is why there are such quite a number of them. notwithstanding, as for incontinence, i'm particular they flow to the bathing room as much as you do. you are able to locate it much less complicated to get your factor for the time of using standard words quite than a borrowed vocabulary. Your positioned up is extraordinarily lots ineffective by way of fact it would not recommend any thank you to handle bona fide circumstances of police misconduct, nor any stable thank you to split genuine circumstances from those in keeping with courtroom circumstances made by defendants attempting to beat a charge.

I think most of you have no idea what cops are like and what it's like to work in that kind of environment. I agree with the person that says overall the majority of the police officers are not corrupt. Most of you think they are so tight they would not report on another officer, that is untrue. I was a Court Clerk for 9 years and everyone in law enforcement are audited. I just don't believe the officer could consistantly know when another officer won't report that officer for wrongdoing. How would they know who they could trust?

Speaking as a former officer (retired) the persons involved should be prosecuted and face a more severe penalty than the average citizen. They have betrayed a trust not only of the community but their fellow officers.

Crooked cops are the *extreme* minority in Law Enforcement. A much much smaller ratio than the general public.

Can you prove it? If so, make a report to the state law enforcement agency and let them investigate. Or, turn to your local media - it's their job to keep people honest.
