Today I went shopping in the toy aile for my 6 month old son. For learning toys, mind you... so when I began to press some buttons, to my suprise there were buttons for Spanish & English. Since when has Leap Frog come out with bilingual learning toys. Do American citizens think its okay for another language to be forced upon our small children. Do you think that the boarders should be more tightly secured. If not... don't you think that America will eventually be taken over by the Mexicans? All answers are welcome.

NO, we should not have our children learning spanish. Not because it could harm them , but because we shouldn't HAVE to. Remember when this country spoke english? And you didn't have to press any flipping number for english???
Did your ancestors learn english, OBVIOUSLY!
There is no way the mexicans can "take over". But i say F them!
Come here LEGALLY if you like and then become an AMERICAN. Has no one realized yet that we are an actual country with our own history and heritage and customs? We should NEVER have to adopt to any ones BS or lack of want to conform. Send them back to their lives at home and see if they change their tune and language then!

The immigration crack down is long overdue and necessary considering the thousands here illegally and they do affect health care, education and the budget for social reforms. The fastest growing Legal Immigrant Ethnic group is the Hispanic and they work and spend their money just like everyone else so the Toy Manufacturers, among others, are aware of the profit margin from the Hispanics. It is actually a advantage today and will be a asset in the future for you child, any child to be fluent in Spanish or any other language. I see many ads in the Employment Classified where Spanish is desired as a Second Language and children learn a language better when young. Were I to want my child to have only English toys then I would write to the manufacturer and demand one. Although it is a large number-the no of Hispanics(not just from Mexico but all the South American poorer Countries) coming into this country that no will shortly decline for steps are being taken now to make it much more difficult and not so worthwhile anymore to come here illegally so I am not in fear of this country to be overtaken by Hispanics. It also takes a lot more to overtake ,control a country---Education.political savy which the majority lack and their main interest is only to feed and house their families and set up a bank account for their old age. I am more concerned over the damaging effects of global warming and consider it a more imminent and serious threat

I speak Spanish but my family were among the first settlers here. However I don't speak it if someone doesn't know English.

Things should not be bilingual in this country. If a business posts in Spanish prominently they have lost my (and a lot of other people's business). I don't expect everyone to know English when I go abroad and do my best to learn the language, others should do the same.

However the attention paid to the immigrant issue is a joke. It's meant to get conservatives out to rally around a cause to make them feel jingoistic again. It's just meant to divide people politically. Very little is really being done. After the commotion has passed things will go back to the way they are and nothing will be changed because big business (conservatives) profit from the labor of illegal immigrants and don't really want to change it.

Anyone will also be stopped at any time through police or different legislation enforcement specialists for rushing or a bunch of different visitors infractions and various authorized violations. As lengthy as you've got your correct ID, you don't have any extra hindrance than any person else who's legally stopped. Stop whining. These state legislation practically require state specialists to abide through federal legislation, and furnish methods for dealing with men and women who're arrested, then haven't any correct ID, to be certain immigration issues are grew to become over to immigration specialists as already required through federal legislation. Stop paying attention to the propaganda of the unlawful extraterrestrial beings and apologists for immigration-legislation violators.

Well considering that white english speaking americans will soon be the minority, it only seems logical to have multi ligual toys.

Why wouldnt you want you child to know two languages? Knowledge is power, give your child a headstart in the new America and teach him/her spanish.

By the way not all spanish speaking people in this country are mexicans. Keep in mind there are millions of legal south American people living here.

Get smart, learn something.

So what if it's in Spanish? If you want your six-month old to be totally closed to a second language, then go ahead and use the English buttons only. There are people who want their children to be smart. Also you don't know if these toys are being exported to another country, there you would apply "Why should other countries have to buy toys that are in English?" You people whine too much about insignificant crap.

Export or arrest all illegals, regardless of Nationality. 100% enforcement. English is our National language, learn it and speak it, or be totally ignored. Since when did I have to "dial 1 for English?" ohhhhhhh, don't get me started !

You're not really smart are you? what's wrong with learning another language? is just a way to learn something different and expand your child's mind, nobody is forcing him in to it, but where's the harm in being billingual?
And by the way I came to this country only five years ago, I learned English, probably my english is not perfect, but I did it, and I'm proud of being able to understand and speak two languages.
