does anybody know what age one must be to be able to purchace medicines like pleeping aids or prescriptions? can't find a good site that says laws and such. please help!!

That depends on what state you are in. Sleeping pills in Texas you have to be 18, same with prescriptions. However, if a person is under 18 and the prescription is for themselves and they have photo ID, they can purchase it.

There is no age limit for purchasing medicine because a person can be sick at any age. Basically forthe purchase of drug u must first contact a Dr. (for getting prescription) or a pharmacist (in case of OTC drugs). Self medication is not good at any age.

Walgreens has signs on the medicine racks for the OTC meds. It says that no one under the age of 18 can purchase certain meds. Too many teenagers were abusing meds that made you drowsy. they were drinking the cough syrup to get drunk. They have been carding people that buy meds OTC.

well..anyone can purchase over-the-counter sleep aids. just go into any drug store and find it. as for perscriptions...i'm not sure. probably 18
