People don't choose to loose faith, it's just life gets tough sometimes and it happens. Some people are not that strong, I'm not saying it's bad or wrong of them, it just happens.

Faith is dangerous, on 9/11 the hijackers had faith that they were doing their gods work. Faith usually revolves around believing something that has not been proven to exist. So with that in mind I can have faith in just about anything. Combine it with desire and you end up believing in something that fits your needs and wants, it corrupts the way you see life. When a person wakes up and starts to see life for what it is, and not for what they want it to be, they let go of faith and embrace peace and love.

I don't think it is a conscience choice but a matter of sad circumstances. Many people depend on their faith to get them through the tough times while some wonder why their faith failed to keep them from the tough times. I guess it is the adversity that makes your faith stronger or makes you lose faith all-together.

I don't think people "choose" to lost faith, I just think their faith is shallow or undeveloped. Sometimes, when bad things happen people lose faith because they expect God to step in or solve problems "their way" not God's way. He does answer prayer but in his time and his way. That is a hard concept for people to understand; therefore, they give up. Actually faith means to believe in something regardless of being able to verify its fact. This would mean that regardles of the outcomes we should put our "faith" in God.

U think they choose to? Well I don't know, but the few people I know in my life that are atheists are of 3 orders ~ 1. They have been through quite a "rough" tumultuous life. 2. They were not exposed to God or His word in any form, which makes sense cuz if noone informs you there is a wonderful Heavenly Father, it makes sense you wouldn't embrace Him-right? and 3. People who don't get their way when they want it, so" how can there be a God if I don't get what I want?" and the 4th I just thought of ~ people who just aren't designed to have faith in love. God is love, you cannot truly love and not love God. God is love ~ period.:o]

I wouldn't say I lost my faith. My faith was erased by the truth. I didn't choose anything. Knowledge is power. Remember that!

I don't think it's a choice. I believe that people get so beat down by life that they simply give up hope, and what is hope but the faith to continue on? Everyone on this planet has been to the point at which they have said, Why me? Or, why bother anymore? I believe it is simply giving up.

Sometimes things get very hard for people and they lose faith that God really loves them. And sometimes people get really busy and their faith takes a backburner. People lose their faith for a number of reasons.
