no, this should have been pursued before you were 18.

Well, there is a statue of limitations there, plus you are not the person he was supposed to be paying... if he owes that much money, and was ordered by the courts, chances are your father walks down the street looking over his shoulders constantly. If I were you, i'd get some information about that from the Support Services Dept. from your local superior court.

theres not much you can do some dads just dont get it my childrens father is on ten yrs probation for not paying he hasnt paid in three yrs he has been arrested twice and there is a warrant out on him now but they wont go get him because the kids are grown now when he went to jail the last time his bond was $2000.00 he called his youngest daughter who is 20 yrs old and asked her to loan him the money to get out of jail how sweet of him to ask her to pay her own child support too many people get away with this as the system doesnt stick to its policies unless a miracle happens and your dad decides to be a real man and father and help you or offer you some money it probably isnt going to happen sorry for your troubles but life is tough i feel sorry for the men and women that have chosen to leave their children hanging and have not been there for them they are the ones that have missed out in life have a good weekend

I understand what you are going through. I'm 35 and my father not only has NEVER helped financially, but doesn't even care about me. I have spent many years dealing with this and trying to work through it and I have finally come to the conclusion that I am a good person, I have many friends, I have 2 beautiful, healthy children and a healthy marriage; that's all I need.
Living well is the best revenge; live your life and enjoy it because life is too fleeting to worry about a man who cares so little.
You are special even without his love or his money!! You have a Heavenly Father who loves you!!

No, you can't make him pay it back but a court of law may be able to. You should contact a custody lawyer and find out if there is a statute of limitations on back child support.

Depends on the statute of limitations where you live. I know in Ga., once a child turns 18 they have the option of suing for back child support.

You must owe someone a lot of money to even think about going this far! Were you thinking about charging him interest too? Grow up and pay your own way in life - you are no longer a child!
