that pills or medication is the best way to treat anything.
it's just not true.
try things like yoga, breathing, martial arts and other forms that create awareness of the body and understanding of it.
pain is a form of information; a warning signal your body gives you. It's information you can use to change your behavior.
pills and painkillers mask this information, possibly leading to greater injury.

It is a common misconception that opiate medications are the "best" medications for pain. However, two tyelenol are just as effective as 25 mg of Demerol. It is also dependant on what kind of pain that you have. Neuropathic pain is sharp and burning, but it does not respond well to tradtional therapy. However, it does respond to anti-siezure medication and Tricyclic antideppresants. The Nsaids are very effective against nociceptive pain. This kind of pain is what one would experience post op. It can also be a result of sprains, breaks in the bone, etc. So as you can see, "One type of pain medication is not right for everyone. Pain is always subjective and health care providers are expected to treat it as such.

One of the strongest misconceptions regards taking A LITTLE MORE of something because what the person took before did wonders. Never take more than the bottle and/or your doc recommend. It can lead to an overdose and be fatal.

That it will take care of any mental problems, take away all your problems. If you are using any narcotics as a pain reliever, don't think it will relieve you of personal problems.
