Perfect pitch is something that you are born with but also something you can learn in many ways. Experiments have shown that this ability, a form of memory, can be acquired through practice, but in some individuals it appears to be inborn.
Most professional musicians dismiss out of hand any possibility whatever that perfect pitch can be anything but an inborn, unacquirable trait. Certainly some cases of perfect musical pitch do seem almost inborn and unacquired, but others clearly are not. Various other programs and researches cite the learning and acquisition, at various ages including young adult, of this perfect pitch trait which usually is assumed to be genetic, inborn and not acquirable.
There is no requirement that people with perfect musical pitch be great intellectuals. But it is clear that people with perfect pitch are intellectually more capable. Perfect pitch is where
we can predict and sound, by voice or by tuning string, that C sharp or other note. Very few people have perfect pitch but Perfect pitch can be learned, and perhaps not only by children.
If you are one who believes that perfect pitch is something you have to be born with, then you are wrong. You can develop perfect pitch. Perfect pitch is synonymous with fine musician who really hears sound as it is. Without this ability, one cannot fully play in tune, phrase, produce a beautiful tone, and create music that reflects what you are feeling and thinking inside. If one enjoys and knows every note for itself, a delightful and deep experience unfolds.
Through a planned program of voice, speech education and practice, individuals can find the proper amount of tension, breath support, pitch and relaxation to find the potential of their best voice.♥

You have to be born with perfect pitch and relatively few people are. Most people that are labeled as having perfect pitch actually have what is called relative pitch. As stated above, you can learn pitch memory which is very useful. For most, the younger you start developing your ear the better chance you have.

My piano teacher says that you canteach tone deaf people how to hear pitch and sing etc, it's just a lot more effort. It's like anything, if you're talented in the area it's a lot easier, but not impossible otherwise. If you have some basic musical ability you should be fine-most singers out there aren't just born with the ability, they have training. You could always find a tutor and ask what they think, maybe bok a sample lesson or a trial :)

You can improve any vocal quality to a degree -- but perfect pitch is something you have to be born with. No amount of practice with give you perfect pitch. Sorry the news can't be better

Vocal improvement is always possible, but if you don't have perfect pitch now, I'm sorry to say you never will. You can practice and practice to reach better vocal quality, but it comes much easier to those who have the natural talent. Relative or memorized pitch is also possible. Yet, again, with much practice. You could work with a vocal coach to help achieve that.
In short, love: You are born with perfect pitch.
Have a good weekend!

You must be born with it.
However, you can develop memorized pitch. e.g. many string-instrument musicians know an A. Others can memorize it all. The only difference between that and perfect pitch (Also known as absolute pitch) is that it is not inherent and automatic.

Although many people will argue that it is inborn, as a music teacher, I have seen students develop it. It doesn't happen over night, but if a student and teacher work hard together, perfect pitch can be eventually be developed.
