Hello! A few weeks ago, I rode back to college with a sick roommate.....in order to not get sick, I began taking heavy doses of Airborne and using lots and lots of Ocean Nasal Spray. Now, I know that the bottle says that it can be used over and over, but since there is salt in it, if you overuse it, can it dry out your nasal passages and make them bleed. Not profusely, but mixed in with mucus? I have been using it probably 10+ times a day. Or do you think I'm getting sick? Thanks

Well I'm not sure what Airborne is, but as another possibility, when you do nasal lavage (which is more involved than simple nasal spray because it involves a full cup of salt water and takes a little bit of time to do), when blood is present it usually suggests a chronic sinus infection is present. Basically if you've ever suffered with a sinus infection in the past and have not fully eradicated it, which takes time and concerted effort, it's likely never been fully resolved. If it turns out your nose is not just dried out, I'd highly recommend researching nasal lavage for any allergies or sinus headaches or an infection that you may suffer from. It's safe, inexpensive and simple to do and, as opposed to allergy or sinus medications or antibiotics, instead of just temporarily masking the symptoms while further toxifying your body or killing your friendly flora, it gets to the root of the problem and can, in combination with other healthy habits, end it.

Ok how does it go..Too much of a good thing....
Any and I mean any usage of OTC meds in large doses or amounts is always bad.. They say (DOCS) that overuse or prolonged use can actually worsen the condition..
AS needed works for some people with no side effects but I think common sense dictates use of any med. So slow down and see what happens,

dry nasal passages definitely....irritation...nasal drip (caused by the spray)....lay off the stuff unless you really need it.

It just takes ONE week to know if you caught his cold--so lay off the stuff.
