Yes
My Husband(well before we where married) was in the hospital
He was not supposed to be here even now(Dr.s told me when I took him in that he was not going to make it before nightfall)
I prayed to God every night to not take him(and I mean every night/day/all the time)
For 2weeks he stayed in the ICU and on a breathing aspirator and tubes hooked in everywhere.
Finally I prayed to God that "Your will..will be done, If you need him then take him"
He was out of ICU before I got up the next morning

not nessessarily a lesson per say but there is an opportunity for growth. i personally have gone through some pretty rough stuff in my life, mostly self-inflicted due to a drug addiction. usually when bad stuff happened i would do the self-pity thing and would make no progress or even go backward. now i'm clean and life is still rough. i made a big mess of it and life happens you know. now every difficult thing i face i have a golden opportunity to triumph over my difficulties (even if that means i just keep my cool) or i can start blaming manipulating and so on and move backward)
i like to think of it as spiritual growth. and the more i grow spiritually the better and stronger i feel.
i have a friend that told me the difference between a good day and a great day is on a good day everything runs smooth and easy, on a great day the world eats your lunch everything is a mess and you stay sober.( an AA friend)
but everybody has flaws and drinking or druggin might not be chosen negative act. the important thing is above all else, just keep doing the next right thing.

I don't think trials always come to us for the purpose of teaching a lesson. Some things happen to us because of decisions we make. Each experience can be used in a positive way if we allow it. Suffering makes us stronger. Anyone who has worked their entire life knows the worth of a dollar and appreciates good health, far better than one who has never been ill or known hardship. Life will teach us many things. The things it teaches is determined by the path we choose. For every action there is a reaction.

totally! I went to camp one time and the week i was there my counselor actually died (she had a seizure under water) even though i didn't know her very well it was hard and sad. But i remember what she said when i first met her.it went something like this,"Everything happens for a reason, there are no coincidences. You came to this camp for a reason, this cabin for a reason, you have the parents you do for a reason. you might not know why right now but someday it will all make sense." That's true about everything, the trials you have are for a purpose, you may not know now but God will work it out for good, no matter how bad. Romans 8:28

answering questions for me is a trial of faith
thus this reply is my egsample
first the thought comes as to try to reply
so i reread your thought ,then make a judgement ,then ask a reply
there is no real answer comes to mind thus i repeat the question
this is a hard time for me
where is the lesson?
next time wait and see what others reply
check if the dude asking makes a game of asking serious questions or just destractions
what have i learned i chose to play your silly game and i hate games
thanks for the lesson
edit as i expected the replies are much better than your question
my lesson is dont judge
the cause till you know the effect.

Yes. I've had a lot of lessons the last couple of years. One example is when I lost my house. After my ex-husband moved out, I couldn't make the payments on my own. He was suppose to help with them, but he didn't, and as hard as I tried, they ended up foreclosing. I was determined that I wouldn't move back in with my parents, but I did for awhile, and I learned that it was actually a good thing. It gave me the nurturing that I needed for awhile, it showed me how many people really cared and how many friends I had, and it gave me the chance to get back on my feet financially. It's still rough sometimes, and I'm still learning. But I'm also a lot stronger than I was 2 years ago.

There was a time in my life that I lost my house, my credit, and had great financial trouble. I am a very responsible person and so that was devastating to me and very embarrassing. I did get through it with God's help and I did learn some lessons. I learned that people can be in very tough situations through no fault of their own and not to look down on anyone. I also learned to watch for people who will not ask for help but to help them anyway and build their self esteem back up.

Many many many, yes this is true.
Examples:
My son married a girl whose mother was wicked. She whined for him to marry her and get her away from her crazy mother. She pushed him hard. He married her rather young. She is now after 1 1/2 yrs of long distance marriage turing out just like her mother. The lesson is use wisdom in the choice of a mate.
My life when I was young I was very poor, I stole to feed myself at times. I knew it was wrong but I was desperate. A desperate person does things they are not proud of. Now that I have been a successful business person for 30 yrs I have employees and workers who steal from me out of desperation.
The lesson what goes around comes around. If you steel it will come back to you ten fold. Stealing is never necessary.
Everyone makes decisions bad or good. The bad will come back to haunt you. The good always out weighs the bad. So it best to strive to be great. Follow the ten commandments for life.

For every problem in life, God will provide a provision. It is how you choose to obey God's Word and hold to the faith that God will provide your provision, as to what your outcome will be. For example, say you are a new born Christian, suddenly, your doctor informs you that you have cancer, and you are dying. God can heal you, It is promised in the Bible that you will be healed by his stripes. Now, you should get up every day and say Devil take your disease away from my body, God does not give you diseases by the way, he wants you to live a healthy nourishing life. Believe that your cancer is removed. This is your faith. And even if you finally die, what a way to go, for you are now in the Kingdom of God, where there is no tears, no pain, no sickness. Faith comes by hearing and hearing from the word of God. Which is the Bible, for in that book, there is an answer to every problem. Just believe that God is with you. You are more than a conqueror, angels go before you, and walk behind you to protect you. You are a child of God, if he be for you, who be against you?

yes - I was sick for 13 years - i was daigonsed with; severe depesssive disorder (recurrent), dysthimac disorder, and general anxiety disorder. After four shrinks I was taught how to be "happy" again. When that was all said and done, I went back to my life, but I wasn't truly happy. I became happy and fulfilled when I learned that i create my own reality, and my life was up to me make of it what i wanted. it's been a great journey since then - the lesson learned, for me, was the life i lived. like the beatles said, "the life you live is equal to the love you give" i love all.

I have no doubt of it...there have been many trials in my life, most of which I manufactured by my own poor judgment! Every one I learned from. The word of God tells us that He works all things for good for those who love Him, and are called according to His purpose. My greatest lesson in life has been to turn my will over to Jesus Christ and allow Him to run my life...what I do is learn His word and live by it....He orders everything else. I used to try and run my life by my own ideas...what a train wreck. Now my life is full of peace and joy.
