I see all these questions asked about medical situations with an infant. There are also a lot of "Why can't I get pregnant?". What I want to know, is it really that difficult to make a visit to a doctor? Hell a phone call is even easier. It also scares me to know that some of the mothers on here take advice about medical situations. Don't these women realise that they may be talking to someone who has told them the WRONG dosage of medication to give a child? So, for MEDICAL questions, who's better to ask; a doctor or a yahoo answers participant?

WI mom, did you read the entire question? I guess I should tell you it was a joke since you couldn't tell.

the same thing with pets. i tell people to consult a veterinarian about the issue, or if i know what the problem might be from my animals i will tell them my thoughts but still tell them to contact the vet. i think some people come here to get ideas on what the issue might be. but i do totally agree

I agree, there are also some good medical Q&A sites with real doctors. You dont usually get an instant answer though & it may be 2 in the morning where they are! I guess some are insecure about their concerns and just want a bit of feedback before they bother the doc.

i think people on here are just trying to get some advice (either they know the answer already and want to be sure or are just looking for an idea of whats wrong) but hopefully most people don't really take everything seriously. i also think some people on here are just asking a lot of "what if" questions. because if it was a real question they probably would have called the dr. already.

A doctor is always the best route. if someone was to take medical advise from here they are either really backwards or don't have medical insurance.

For health care you need to ask a professional. Physician or Pharmacist.

Well, I don't think "joke" is the right word. Sarcasm would more aptly describe your tone.
