I had this problem once. My Mom took a regular screw and srewed it down in there with the top sticking out. Then she used pliers to pull out the cork. It took some tugging, but it worked.
Good Luck!

Funnnyyy.

My friend and I were just presented with this problem last night. And we did it :)
The cork was plastic, not real cork, and we used a knife and pushed it really hard down into the wine (so there was a cork floating in the bottle).

If it's cork you can chisle away at it and eventually it will go down into the bottle, but you will be picking cork out of the wine (or drinking it). Hey, if you're desperate.

Good luck !

No need to get the cork out..just drink the rest of the wine and throw the bottle out.

who desires a corkscrew in case you have have been given a hammer, a screwdriver a super screw and a collection of pliers? screw the screw into the cork each and each of ways down leaving adequate to pry it out 0.5 an inch with the nail remover area of the hammer. then use the pliers to tug the cork gently out of the bottle. no mess, and no bits of cork on the backside of your wine. savor! or attempt this one...(4 champagne / sparkiling wine) do away with foil masking the cork. Fold a textile serviette in 0.5 and 0.5 back, and wrap it around the backside of the wine bottle. come across a company, wood, flat vertical floor, such using fact the jamb of an open doorway, or perhaps an fairly good wood wall. Stand dealing with the difficult floor and carry the wine bottle above one shoulder with the two hands. One hand ought to be on the neck of the bottle, the different hand close to the backside keeping the serviette on. Pound the backside of the bottle into the wood floor back and back, being particular the backside of the bottle strikes the wood flippantly (by the serviette's padding). The inertial sloshing of the wine interior the bottle will slowly push the cork out, assuming the cork isn't previous and rotting.

I've seen a waiter do it with two flat knives, each one going down the side of the bottle between the cork and the bottle. It looks as though you need a LOT of experience to do this. Be careful if you try it!

You could try all of the above suggestions. OR! If you are incredibly strong, try the following:

Wrap a dry towel around the top. Get a firm grip on the bottle. Twisting the bottle ONLY, pull down.

Like I said, you'll need major arm muscle for that one. But I'm sure you could give it a try.

there is a gizmo with two flat narrow bands that go down the side of the cork rather than through it. they should have them at a liquor store or kitchen shop.

You shake the bottle and scrap the outside of bottle with big sword. I saw that on TV.

Talk to it. Maybe it will come out on it's own.
