Seriously, it is kind of rude that people bash each other's religion. It seems to appear many times in Yahoo Answers.

Don't expect that after you say a religion or a group of believers is wrong, you'll get away scott free.

People have an inherent right to defend their beliefs and convictions by responding to the accusations being hurled against their belief.

Unfortuantely, the bigots and hypocrites here are only interested in inciting hate towards non-Christians and not in the replies made by those they have offended. They are already biased to begin with and no amount of proof will change their narrow minds.

Sad but true.

Peace.

I find it interesting that when someone disagrees with certain people's points of view, they called ignorant. I've seen it said that Christians are just sheep who don't understand anything but what their parents told them. That Christians are stupid. That Christians are bashing others. I've seen a lot more Christian bashing than the other way around. I keep seeing people say "you're pushing your religion down my throat" - haven't actually seen that yet, except a couple of times by some misguided people. What I have seen is a lot of anger and a lot of name calling. Very sad.

I start bashing, when I encounter counterfiets who call themselves Christians, but teach and practice things that Christ was against. This is a disrespect to Jesus and his church. Many churches are teaching religious traditions that were put in place by the church forefathers and have nothing to do with the Christ of the bible. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life." He did not say "I am the tradition." We Jesus followers have to read our bibles every day so that we know what he taught. We must be always on the lookout for these counterfiets and try to correct them gently. This is what he taught.

Mark 16: 15 And He said to them, Go into all the world, proclaim the gospel to all the creation.

If we are to keep this commandment, we must not bash any other religion. How could we ever win anyone by treating them rudely and rejecting them? No matter what they believe, we must continue to embrace them.

I'm going to have to go with Ghandhi on this one...

"An eye for an eye makes the whole world go blind"

It's silly to me that all religions basically preach "Love" and "Tolerance". And people are going to take that dogma and use it to belittle, intimidate, and hate other people who oppose their beliefs???

There's a deep fundamental flaw in that way of thinking - without regarding who you think you are or where you think you came from.

All religions essentially say "Treat others as you wish to be treated." Remember that.

I don't like "bashing," no.

I like calling beliefs into question, in hopes that people will examine them a bit more closely. If they find they are steadfast in what they believe -- that's great. I just want them to stop and think.

I do tend to be sarcastic now and then, usually when I am getting exasperated here and need to blow off steam. I still try to be respectful though.

I don't like bashing. I only defend my own beliefs, but sometimes I'm forced to stoop as low as poking holes in the "superior truth".
