I'm trying my damnedest to figure out some christian theology.
from basic knowledge gained throw a few discussions of people of various sects of the religion, respectively, i come to more questions than answers. so i post a 2-in-1 question with cynical aimed wording in hopes that it will catch allot of attention.
the 1st part of the question is this: a sociophobic God. it seems that God does not show himself often, & really hasn't said anything new in person for the past 2000 years (this statement is in use for the believe that god & Jesus are two separate beings)! so god is extremely shy, & thus must hold some bias toward his best work (...that I'VE ever seen).
this leads me to the second part of the question: is god a hermaphrodite? some variations of Christianity state that "god made man & woman in his likeness" means that he is both female & male.I'm at odds with that, & have more questions branching off from that idea, but that would take me away from the basic subject...

for those who do not believe in God, or any Deity, just look at this question as a hypothetical, rhetorical question!

I believe God is watching as if we were an ant farm. Perhaps taking notes. He laughs often. As to the hermaphrodite question, since the human critter comes in so many different features, I think the "In His likeness" statement was probably meant not to be taken literally. God probably has no form at all, He's just sorta out there....watching.

My take on the hermaphrodite thing, is that we only have genders for the purpose of procreating. God would have no purpose for genitals. He doesn't PROcreate, He creates. As humans, when we think of life, we think of a mother and father. Hence..."God the Father", and "Mother Earth". God took on the male role because life springs from the body of the earth...or the mother's body.
Secondly, being made in His IMAGE...not his likeness. Does that mean we LOOK like Him, or that He imagined what we should look like...created that model, and bam...here we are, created to look like the image God envisioned...not like the image He saw in the mirror?
As to being sociophobic, I don't think there's any phobia about it. I think He created us, gave us knowledge of right and wrong and now He's just watching...seeing how we use that knowledge. Sometimes, strange things DO happen, that stop you from wrecking your car....or that extremely important phone call comes JUST at the right moment, which decides a direction your life will head. I think we have guidance and direction. I just think it's subtle.

Dark: Firstly; Is God "sociophobic" ? No ! But our Greatest Grand parents were. God had a working relationship with Adam and Eve, then, Adam & Eve had a lot of time on their hands and decided to enroll into a philosophy class in the university called the "knowledge of good and evil" ... Eve being an intellectual now, ( graduated with honours), decided to take it upon herself to eat the "fruit' of the tree, God told her not to. Eve gave some of the "fruit" to Adam and he ate it too. Now; they had arrived at the apex of intellectualism ["had their eyes open"] and saw that they were "naked" and sewed fig leaves together. Now; God comes wondering along calling out to them. "Adam & Eve"!
"Why are you hiding from me?" Adam speaks up! " We were naked and were afraid [ashamed] that you would see us!" God immediately replies, ( He [God] created their bodies and knew what they looked like in the raw), " who told you were naked" ? Then the big question. "Have you been eating of the Tree of the knowledge ..." ? God knew, that both, Adam and Eve now, had their degrees in Philosophy and intellectualism was their attempt to justify their misconduct. After playing the "blame game" Adam got right to the point: "God why don't you get out of our lives - who needs you anyways" ( Adam & Eve were both, "sociophobics") - God being the perfect Gentleman, obliges them. - now; you know why God leaves people alone "thanks" to our Greatest Grandparents! Question 2: Is God a "hermaphrodite"? Answer: NO ! Why? Although God made both, male and female "in His likeness", God is of a spirit composition not flesh. Therefore, God would not appear with male and female sex organs because spirit does not require them. The dichotomy occurs when you attempt to "humanize" God , Who is a spirit being i.e. Moses and the burning bush incident re: Moses asks God, "Who should I say that sent me?" God answers from the blazing bush, " I AM" sent you ! Every time we attempt to limit God to a particular being in the present tense, He [God] is becoming... much ... much ... more - because He had a head start on all of us - God has been around forever and He is continually expanding in greatness . That is why He has so many titles to identify Himself with. For example: Almighty, Ever lasting, Holy of the Holies, Healer, Father, Wonderful Counsellor, etc., etc, . It is very difficult for humans to relate to "God" because of His always becoming more and more, on-going. In short; humans are sociophobic ... afterall; didn't humans kill God when He walked the earth as Jesus Christ??? Here's a question for you to ponder. Why would God create a Devil [Satan], who is the "sum of wisdom and beauty" and pit him against Adam and Eve ( mere mortals) to start the proverbial "ball" rolling in the first place? God knew Satan in the role of the "serpent" would con them in to go contrary to His command to not eat the "fruit".

I'm not a Christian but my personal belief is that God isn't sociophobic; he just doesn't have much to say to us. I rarely talk to crickets but that doesn't mean I'm scared of them. In fact, I actually like them a lot. I just don't hear much meaningful response so I don't bother. I think God is male and female and both and neither. He is far beyond those limited definitions.

God and Jesus are one. "whoevere has seen me has seen the Father". God is neither man nor woman but a spiritual being far superior than any human can comprehend with their minds.
It is written that when the Son of God is seen again it will be the end of this world, thats why no one has seen him.

I don't believe god can be defined as an actual being in any actual form. His likeness could have meant his ability to process thought. To me, god is beyond any definition.

God cannot be soiophobic since he Lives in all of us. Since Jesus was born male and He refers to His Father in several instances specifically then one can deduce that God is male. male and female quote refers to their souls being made in his image not their bodies... not exactly the same...

...the soul has no gender ... God created *souls* in His image, not bodies.
Most people don't really want God, they only want their pleasures and desires ... so why should God show himself?
