Best products:
Ones that boast the ability to hold - e.g. gel, mousse, spray.

Best curling irons:
I have a Babyliss curling iron... But its the same as with straightening irons - look for one that has ceramic plates.

Best rollers:
Good old, cheap velcro rollers do the trick just fine. When they're in, give them a blast from the hairdryer every hour to create and hold curl along with a shot of hairspray before you take them out. The time you leave them in should be estimated by the type of hair you have, for example:
Thick, straight hair - a whole afternoon.
Curly, medium thickness hair - 2 hours minimum.
Good luck. =D

Umm... I DO NOT suggest the first suggestion, first of all.... African-American relaxers will destroy Caucasian hair. If it makes our hair straight, look what it will do to Caucasian hair! There has already been a lawsuit filed on a hairstylist because of loss of hair. Dont let that be you....

I suggest for you to get the soft, flexible rollers that are on TV. Those curl the hair any way you want it! Easy to sleep in also! And also you can do this and get curling mousse and scrunch your hair, this causes less damage than heated appliances... and it looks more natural too!

If it has a bit of natural curl to it, try towel drying then blow drying for just a min. They put Curl enhancing moose and crinch/crunch your hair and dry with a diffuser as it is in your hands. Then "crunch" and spray with hair spray. If you know what I mean by crunch then this will work for you! Works for me everytime.
..If you dont have any natural curl and your hair goes flat easily try using A pre curl spray. ITs like a hairspray you spray on before using the curling iron and It keeps the curl strong all day.

When i was little i used to have perfect spiral curls because i was always twisting my hair around my fingers... So if you get the habit of doing that you'll have some nice spiral curls.
