You can check 2 bags for free under 50 pounds normal size bags and two carry on... One roller size bag or brief case for a man or purse for a lady.
Anything more than that will cost you $80 per bag up to a certain amount... Remember the airlines don't view themselves as a moving company so beyond 5 bags the cost will go up even more. If they are oversized they can charge you more also... Hope this helps

Most carriers will allow you to check two bags under 50 pounds for free and allow two small carry on bags/purses. The two that are carried on needs to go under the seat in front of you or in the overhead. Additional bags may be checked usually starting at $50 a piece.

Depends on what airline you are on. Most only allow two bags with a weight of 50 pounds each. Anything over that I am assuming you would have to pay for. You can take a carry on and a personal item on the plane with you as long as they are small enough to be stored in the overhead bin or under the seat. Southwest airlines allows three bags up to 50 pounds each, though.
