i have many and different thoughts about religion but right now i will only mention this. i was very surprised with the whole fuss about religion when i first took a look in Yah-Answ. things between christians and non christians, atheists or muslims seem pretty polarized . that really shocked me. to me religion is a personal issue, so i expect the same from others and i do stoun when i see such fanatism and lack of flexibility in young peoples way of thinking, no matter what their side is. plus generally in europe i think we dont consider religion an issue to debate about, something that i find good, and the whole situation here, wich to 90% arrives from the us users shocked me. i just wanted to say it.

Religion is a a good and a bad thing
Why I say that is because religion is a part of all cultures and history it helps us to relate to others in different ways and it can also be bad that it can cause conflict between people cuz of the differences of ideas being that it is the number 1 cause of war
Everyone need a religion to have a reason to live and to have something to look upon for guidance

My thoughts pretty much involve considering religion man-made and flawed. I've looked into a few religions(yes, besides Christianity) before and don't really see too much worth believing in.

Then again, I freely admit that I'm a fair bit jaded, so take that with a grain of salt, obviously.

We need to go beyond Religion to spirituality to really understand God. When one understands that all these religions where sent by God at different time, place and circumstances then they are making progress spiritually. Lord Krishna says in the Gita- "When ever there is a decline in religious principals and the truth appears to be lost,I appear again and again or send my representative to reestablish the truth."

I like the old joke:

God looked down on the people he had made and was really tickled with them. "You know what? I'm going to give them a wonderful gift. The gift of spirituality!"

Satan replied, "Oh, terrif. Tell you what: I'll organize it and we can call it 'religion'."

i can only compare religion to the yellow brick road. its a journey
of self discovery with an delusional illuminating path to a destination of personal peace. but the destination is not where
you'll get what u want. it cannot. the journey and lessons learned awaken you to reality. the reality that u have the answers within you. so clap your heels....and say,"theres no place like home"

Religion to me, in general, is a group where one can develop and share their spirituality with others who share similar beliefs.

Any religion that claims to be the only way, is a lie.

Some days, it's the only reason I keep going.

On other days, it's the opiate of the people.

Some days, it's at the heart of what drives us to be free (the campesino's (Sp.) Mass, or th Civil Rights movement)

Other times, it's what keeps us imprisoned (The religious right)
