I'm 5'7 ... had 5 kids, and I am a bit over, but 140 is not, your suppose to be between 125 and 145 ... skinny Minnie is 120, skin and bones are not healthy, keep the auss you have and enjoy your body, if you have kids, keep exercising! Don't worry your pretty little head with your weight, look into the metaphysical or into insight, like The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfeild! Your weight is the least of your problems in your young life!

No you are not fat. At 5-7 and 140 you are well within normal.
In fact the average women is only 5'- 4" and 140 lbs. So at your height you are easily normal. Your mom is likely underweight.

Your 6 inches taller than me and 5 lbs heavier, I wish I was built like you. I look real nice at about 125, not too skinny and not too fat, don't get me wrong, I feel OK now, it's just better at 125-130. You are NOT overweight, the only way you could LOOK overweight was if 40 or more of those lbs were all in your stomach.

no. no. no. you are the right weight for your height. young women today are plagued with poor body images and eating disorders because of the media. just worry about being happy and healthy. your weight is normal. everyone needs to eat a good diet of fruits, veggies, etc. don't get hung up on america's worst female problem. women on t.v. and in mag. ads are airbrushed/photofinished. those people look normal in thier real people lives. some look real sick and anorexic. some die from that. it's not worth it. your self worth is more than what you weigh. love yourself, and you will be a happy person. your'e talking to a r.n., seen way too many young women trying to become something other than what they are. very sad. your weight is correct for your height. and if you have very much muscle mass, well then, you might not weigh enough, because muscle is heavier than fat. stop beating yourself up, girl!

No you are not over weight at all, and if it matters to you according to those wieght and height charts in the doctors office you are within the range of normal weight for someone your height. I just went to the doctoers today, and most of all if you feel fine and are healthy that is all that matters. I am 5'6 1/2 and weigh 153 and i am not fat.

Being "overweight" is a subjective. I would be more inclined to suggest that your mom is too skinny before I would consider you as overweight.
Don't worry about what your mom says on the weight thing, you are at a healthy weight. Just make sure you excercise regularly and eat a nutritious and balanced diet to remain in good health.

Wow, your mom must be really thin, and in my opinion she is too thin. I happen to be 5'7" and I weigh 138....I am trying to actually get down to 130 just to get in shape, but I dont think I'm fat! People usually roll their eyes at me when I say I'm trying to lose weight. Don't listen to your mom...if you are okay with the way you look thats ALL that matters.

it depends on how you carry it, if you are athletic you could get away with 140 and look toned and great. If you are a flabby couch potato, you might want to lose a couple pounds, but you probably wouldnt be considered fat by any normal non tv model standards.

Eh. Your mom simply lost muscles with old age and she's just making casual comments. Muscles are denser than fats, so if she says anything mean to you again, tell her "yes I am heavy, but no I'm not fat, nowhere as flabby as you are". That should get the point across once and for all.
