What have you ascertain about compassion?

I know it's from the heart, but is it spiritual?

Is it God reaching for us to reach out, or it's God that lives in our hearts?

I think it is that this person has perhaps learned to have and share compassion based on their life experiences. It is a gift from God anyway you look at it.

It's all of that. It is a gift from God. Some people naturally have more than others. Some people are compassionate because God lives in their hearts and know that God wants us to reach out to others. Others have learned it from others who have showed compassion to them.

Think about this. No man has ever seen God. But when someone shows compassion, kindness guess what he sees God. Why because God is Love. It is God reaching for us to reach out. When you have received Christ as your Lord and Savior God comes to live in our hearts. If a person truly has received Christ then he wants to do as Christ (Love Mankind, show compassion. By the way God blesses us all with gifts but its sad that most people never discover they're gift before they die. Another thing, we all have a degree of passion in our hearts its a choice,an evil man has passion it doesn't mean he has the gift of compassion. Because most of the time there is a motive. But when its a gift you do it out of love no strings attached.

Actually, it IS a spiritual gift.
I'm not sure if you're a Christian, but as you mature, you can learn what your spiritual gifts are. That's why everyone isn't a pastor. That's why some people shouldn't be evangelizing...their spiritual gift may be something else. It's kind of cool actually.
Compassion and mercy are 2 of my spiritual gifts. It used to be that I didn't understand why people didn't have compassion for others, until I realized it's part of how God made us all different.

That's why we have a "body" of believers. Not everyone can be a hand, or an eye; you need all kinds of people.

Compassion is a matter of spiritual realization. When one understands that everything is coming from God and every living entity including plants, fish, bugs, animals, people are souls and within the heart of every lining entity is the God sitting in their heart (Holy Ghost) Then they would never unnecessarily harm anyone. No one can become truly compassionate until they become vegetarian. When one eats flesh it supports violence and one becomes what they eat. Even if they don't realize it. So first to open the big door of compassion we need to become vegetarian and the above and then we can become truly compassionate. Otherwise it is a type of schizophrenia.

Compassion is a spiritual trait all can seek. I find that compassion, the ability to be humble and to think of someone besides your own self all go hand in hand. I believe compassionate people realize that no one has to be better than someone else. They realize that when we lift others up, we bless them and renew ourselves through the process.

Hi,
I'm a teen but hopefully I can help.
In Galatians 5:22-23 we read that the
fruits of the Spirit are:
FAITHFULNESS, LOVE,
JOY, PEACE, KINDNESS,
SELF-CONTROL, PATIENCE,
GOODNESS, AND GENTLENESS
Every single one of these words add to the definition if compassion.
Yes, compassion is spiritual it goes deep into the word of God.
Well, before you become a Christian you must admit, believe, and confess. And before then God wanted to come into your heart.
Because he said in his word that if he stood at the door of your heart and knocked you opened it he will come in.
God shows compassion toward us each and everyday.
So God reached for our all in all. And in return when where in need we lift our heads toward heaven.
Hopefully that summed it all up.
