D.O. are doctors of Osteopathic Medicine. These doctors have the same education, training, and certification as the traditional MD's. D.O.'s have additional training in treating and diagnosing with their hands. The philosophy of Osteopathy is to treat the patient as a single whole unit and not as individual symptoms and illnesses.
