I have two cat's that play as they should, and have taken him to the vet after a breakout. The vet thinks it's from the cat play and claws (which it did look like). but now he has another sore on his brow along with little ones araonund his eyes. He seems not to be bothered....acts like nothing is wrong , but we worry. This is the alpha cat of the two also. Used to b a vet on 'Answers' .. I need a second opinion. TIA OH! , the other cat never has this problem.

Cats have scent glands on the back edges of their mouths and between (and just above) their eyes. This is why they "rub" you with their heads, to mark you as belonging to them. If the sore turns bad or ulcerates, please don't hesitate to take your cat to the doctor, however, since he has ruled out infection for now, I wouldn't worry about it and start looking for behaviors that could cause it. Such as rubbing in the same area or the other cat scratching there. Perhaps there's an irritant in the litter box? Be sure and clean it daily! Good luck!

I have three cats (F-3.5yrs, M-1.5yrs, F-.5yrs) and I've had one of them get several sores just above his eyes where the hair is a little thinner. I imagine they've gotten more than this from playing, they're probably just easier to see here since the hair is thinner. So the vet's explanation seems pretty good.
The little ones around the eyes seem odd though..never seen that. But if you took the cat to the vet and you trust the vet, then I wouldn't worry!

Is it possible that in making an object he is cutting himself?
Is it possible that he is rubbing against a plant that he is allergic to?
Is he outdoors at all? If so it could be poison ivy, poison oak or something like that.
Good Luck
