Use a mild soap, and exfoliate and moisturize like crazy. A humidifier helps too, especially during the winter months. When I get itchy from it, taking a Benadryl and using Sarna lotion helps more than anything. You can control the symptoms even if you can't make them go away forever.

My daughter has it and yes it is a drag but there's not much you can do about it. In her case, much as I think tanning salons are not good for you, short visits seemed to help her. She would go a couple of times and it would get a fair bit better for a while. Maybe UV treatments recommended by your doctor could help. In our area (Southern Ontario) the machines are too busy to be used for such a person.

It is a tough one to get rid of. However some physicians are finding that you can reduce it significantly with photodynamic therapy. For example you could use levulan PDT. checkout www.aad.org

You can't get rid of it. I have it all over my body. Theres no cure for it. I hate having chicken skin. Its quite common so don't be ashamed of it.
