it depends on their pedigree...i have a friend that paid 2500 for a King Charles Spaniel. and 1800 for a French Bulldog

Cockers and other spaniels have a lot in vet bills. Great Danes and mastiff-types have the biggest food bills. English bulldogs are the most expensive to breed because they need c-sections most of the time. There is alot to look into, cheap or expensive on purchase doesn't include the rest of their life price.

I think the record still goes to a Labrador Retriever (however there have been a few dogs sold since that the price was not disclosed)
But 1990-1991-1993 NFC Candlewood Tanks Alot (Lottie) was sold for $265,000.00
My little Lab *****, "Raindancer's Chasin A Dream", cost $3,000 as a 8 week old puppy paid one full year before the breeding took place.

Dogs that are trained for specific duties such as search & rescue, drug sniffing or other police work are usually high dollar due to the time training them. Also top winners in many types of sport(such as dog shows, field trials) bring big $$$ on the rare occasion you can get an owner to part with them (frequently they can not be bought at any price), because well only one can win.

Any breed can be expensive. It all depends on if it is purebreed or not. What it looks like what its atittude is like. Is it good with children and other animals or not. And how much you are wiling to pay for a dog.

The greyhound....they can win the owner mega bucks & can sell for $100000.00 plus they can make heaps from siring as well

it depends if the dog is a purebred or not because purebreds are more rare than mutts, so, they are more exspensive.
PUREBRED- a dog of only one breed(beagle/beagle)
MUTT- a dog of more than one breed(beagle/dalmation)
