It may be true... but don't you agree that there are some who are genuine in their affiliation?
Life is too short to focus on the negative side of things.
For instance: if someone asked me to name one thing about... the Mormon Church (I'm not Mormon), I'd say, "they have a really cool tradition of spending one night a week with their family". There are some things I don't agree with about the Mormon's but by voicing the negative I create and nurture it and the world has enough on it's own without me adding to it.
I just think it would be nice to have as a last thought... something positive.

Could not disagree more. I've sat in a pew 10 years and have little to no idea why those around me are there. I stood in front of the pews and have a partial understanding of the tremendous pain and longing in the hearts that were sitting in front of me. From the confession of a mass murderer to adulterers to the grieving to the drunk, the list goes on and on to the hopeful and the relieved. This begins about people to God and only then can it go to people to people.
Just a note - your sin is forgiven now. The issue is whether or not you accept it and live it.

i dont agree...people now feel as if religion should be private. the more religious u are the more excluded you get except if you are already in a religious group. for example i'm roman catholic and i dont impose my views on anyone but when a religious topic comes i give my 2cents, well students look at me weird like why arent you clubbing but instead going to church? so no i dont agree

No, I don't agree. An opinion is not something that can either be agreed or disagreed with, unless you are basing it on some evidence, or offering some sort of proof.

Yes but you have to suffer as you do wrong actions. So you are forgiven but you do have to pay for your mistakes. And it is not just a one life thing as the fundamentalists think. To understand the all loving mercy of God you have to understand Karma and Reincarnation or non of it makes any sense. www.stephen-knapp.com for universal information

I do agree. I made a lot of friends in church when I was a Christian, but that all changed when I became Atheist. People don't like Atheists...but I didn't become Atheist to make friends.

Some may seem like fakes but they are really looking for something there. They know that there is something for them but they haven't found it yet. But at least they haven't totally given up trying.

nah--I'm not religious but I respect that those who are really believe what they say. But I bet you're partially right. Church might be a good place to meet people
