Usually no one chooses a religion. They are usually born into it and don't question or think about it first. Also/and, they just follow along with what is popular with their peers or society. Ever wonder why western/lower Asia mostly consist of Buddhist and Hindus? What about the Muslims that are in the Middle East? All of these people claim their religion is the one true one and condemn the other. Location has much to do with it and the people you are surrounded by. It has nothing to do with thinking or reasoning.

If you choose a religion on your own chances are God didn't call you. But if the religion chooses you then you can see the Hand of God drew you there. That is if it is a religion of Faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ that is able to wash away your sins and make you white as snow. Religion without Christ is nothing but religion. Religion with Christ brings people to Salvation which means eternity with God in Heaven. Escaping the damnation of Hell which was prepared for the devil and his demons. But the Bible says Hell hath enlarged itself. Man has been choosing to fill it up. Don't choose a religion that can't save you. You will end up there. Choose Christ He died for you and rose again on the third day and He is alive in heaven not to far away. He can hear you.
Call unto me and I will answer you is what He has said and it is eternal it can not change. Come unto me and I will give you rest,
take my yoke upon you hear me and be blessed for I am meek and lowly come and trust my might my yoke is easy and my burden light. What an Offer! You can't refuse it!

If you believe in God then you will look for what is truth. God says His Word is truth. (John 17:17) Any religion that does not follow what the Bible says is not a true religion. A quick way to weed out a lot of false religions is to see if they obey all of the God's law. (the 10 commandments) Most religions do not. Check it out for yourself. All religions think they are right. Matthew 7:14 says that "Strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." If you want to obey God He promises that you will be able to discern truth. (John 7:17)

Sadly, almost all people of every culture follow whatever religion they are taught, Christianity, Islam, Bhuddism, whatever, without ever questioning it or asking why do they believe what they believe.
Of course in some societies it is mandatory that you follow a state religion. It would seem that is what neo-con fundamentalists, particularly such eggplants as Jerry Falwell & Pat Robertson, want for America... that all people be forced to submit to their beliefs and teachings, and therefore to their authority. What a frightening proposition...

If you are sincere then you can start by Prayer. Asking God to please reveal to you the true religion.
Then it is up to you to do the research and the studying and finally the active worshiping.
I studied many different religions until i found the truth. I found wholes in all other religions except from the organization I,m leaving you to check into.

Just grab your shopping cart and come with me....or him...or her......or them.....Don't "choose" a religion....be your own religion with your own personal beliefs...whether it is mixxed up of different religions or just a simple good life of doing great things and becoming a great person. We need to become ourselves instead of something everyone else is....isn't it about time?

From what I have observed, they choose by what suits their lifestyle best. They like to believe in a Religion that lets them live their life the way they want to live their life.
The way I chose mine was through research, questions, experiences and logical analysis.

Hopefully from a lot of thought, education and self reflection. That is how I did it; although being agnostic I wouldn't say I have a religion.
