I asked my doctor to prescribe suppositories for pain. She didn’t know about it. I also asked at the pharmacy, nobody know what I mean. Where can I find suppositories for pain? Did anybody use this medication? I asked at a Tylenol web side. They wrote that they don’t have such suppositories.

I wrote to a pharmacy manufacturer:

When I have my period I always used a suppository for pain (ingredients: 10 mg N-Butylscopolaminiumbromid, 800 mg Paracetamol ) in Germany. I can not understand why I can't find this important medication in the USA. On my first period day I have abdominal pain and stomach ache cramps. When I take a Naproxen tablet, I have to vomit, so the medication can not help. I ask my doctor about suppository for pain. She didn't know about it and prescribed Phenadoz suppositories for vomiting. I would rather use pain medication without swallowing anything. Do you have any medication like this? If not, it would be necessary to create a new one!

They wrote:

Thank you for contacting Paddock Laboratories regarding suppositories containing N-Butylscopolammonium bromide and paracetamol. Paracetamol is also called acetaminophen and is available as suppositories under the generic name (acetaminophen) and brand names such as Tylenol, etc.

Each country may have different drugs approved for use. N-Butylscopolamine bromide is not approved for use in the United States to my knowledge. You are correct, a company would have to invest time and money to develop and gain government approval to market the combination product you are looking for.

There are several drugs that are available in Europe that are not available in the States. It doesn't matter how much you ask your physician or pharmacist--if they are not approved in the states for use, you will not find them for legal sale here. There are Tylenol suppositories, but that's about it. You'll have to find another alternative.

There are suppositories for pain, and I've seen one for Tylenol before. I would call around to different pharmacies, I know the one I use to work for did a lot of Hospice care, and they got suppositories for pain. So, you may just need to find one that carries it, then tell your doctor the name of the name and strength of the med.

I found some info will put it below:

ACETAMINOPHEN

(TYLENOL)
Rectal suppository (Feverall brand) 80mg, 120mg, 325mg

Suppositories in the U.S. are not popular, unlike in Europe. In the U.S., they are sold under the brand names of Acetaminophen inserts, Feverall, Neopap, or Suppap-120. You might have to ask for these drugs to be specially ordered.
There are powders, suspensions, chewable tabs available.

I live in Washington State and when I was in the hospital for meningitis, I couldn't keep anything down, so they gave me suppositories for pain and they worked well. Maybe you need to ask another Dr.
