Why did they sin when they had everything they needed? Why do we sin when all we have to do is follow God? It seems we like the world more than we love God.

The Devil is very powerful. Adam and Eve sinned through the abuse of freedom. Freedom is the ability to do what we ought to do not whatever we want to do. What should we do? know, love and serve God with our whole heart, mind and strength. It takes a lot of freedom to do that. Staying away from sin helps. We do not have the right to choose evil. They believed the lie and chose not to remain in the truth so it was then and so it is now. God Bless my friend

They simply believed a lie and were damned to hell. But God in His infinite mercy had a plan. Amen! You my friend are in the same place as Adam and Eve. Will you believe a lie and be damned? Or will you believe the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and be saved from your sin if you are not already? You see Adam brought sin upon the whole world in that all have sinned because we all are the children of Adam and we need to be saved. Are you saved and if you are will you follow Christ?

Because doing the right thing is not easy. Sin offers us an easy out with, most of the time, instant gratification. While following God's law is most of the time hard, but in the long run the rewards are sweeter. It's kinda like I have $800...do I buy the Manolos or do I invest it?

Ooooooooooooooooh Manolos!

Adam and Eve sinned because they had free will, just like the rest of us. All people have free will. Everybody sins. That is why Jesus died on the cross for us.

Deception. One will do what they think will make them happy, when they don't understand that in the end it'll destroy them in the physical world and the afterlife.

The flesh does most of the deception. Adam and eve sinned because they were deceived by the serpent.

I'm convinced we'll do much better in the afterlife

The issue is in a two letter word: IF. Notice the temptations of Jesus - they are the same as the one Eve & Adam flunked. IF. Satan continually invites us to forget who we are and to be what is presented as "better/bigger." To E & A the message was "IF you want to be like God (forgetting you are the Children of God)..." The question remains the same today. Sadly, so do most of our responses. Thanks for the question - it has helped.

eve was deceived by satan, he convinced her that she would no surely die, so she ate of the tree of knowledge so she would know what god knew, when she had eaten of the fruit, Adam say that the glory of God was fading from her and he did not want to lose her so he ate of the fruit. God did not ask Eve what she had done, He ask Adam, because Adam was not deceived, and then Adam was afraid and blamed it on Eve.

I believe that God the Father plan for us was set prior to the creation of mankind. We were given Free Will (agency as per LDS teaching) for Gods purpose. Consider-after recreation nothing changed-nothing died. Satan-jealous of Gods love for man-tempted our free will. Upon chosing the taste of the forbidden fruit all changed. Death arrived-birth arrived-salvation arrived-and our return to the Kingdom of God arrived. Does God the Father not know all things before it happens-yes......does not God the father have all solutions prior to need-yes. Did God know of what was to come-yes-God loves man-so-God had a plan to save us and bring us home.

They were step up for failure. They had too many stupid rules to follow.
This is assuming that there truly was an Adam and Eve. All that inbreeding , can you hear the banjo music?
