If you don't like milk or it doesn't agree with you, you can always drink calcium-fortified orange juice. But will the calcium be absorbed as well by your body? A one-week study at Tufts University's Mineral Bioavailability Laboratory in Boston found that calcium was equally well absorbed from skim milk, fortified orange juice and calcium-carbonate tablets. When picking a calcium source, remember that all options involve a trade-off: Unlike orange juice, milk contains vitamin D--another essential nutrient for strong bones. Orange juice, on the other hand, has vitamin C and folate, which is good for your heart and helps prevent serious birth defects. The moral of the story: Getting nutrients from a variety of food sources is best.--S.C.

There is no con that I know of about drinking calcium in juice, except that juice tends to have a lot of calories, especially if it has high fructose corn syrup as a main ingredient. So if you are watching your weight, or aren't very active, you should make sure your juice doesn't have much sugar in it.

you need from 800 milligrams to 1200 milligrams of calcium daily and i believe the studies that support that there is no difference between taking calcium from natural sources or from manufactured ones because calcium is a mineral.
so id say yeah there good for you if you don't take more then 2 grams of calcium into your diet and were an active person so that it would be used by your body to support your bones.

They're supposed to be, but taste terrible. They're safe, though.
