Why are so many people willing to die in God's name? And why do they always have to take as many other people with them as possable? Doesn't anyone want to live for God anymore?

I try to live for God, I am one of Jesus's biggest fans, and I know he loves me. I was rased in a Christian Church, had good Sunday school teachers. Yet every day I am shocked by what I see Christians do, I think of the story of Cane, and Able, when you kill, you kill your brother. I think that all of the killing is related back to the paganism that people practiced before the belief in a monolithic, single God. Back in those times people beliefed in many gods, and those gods wanted blood sacrifices. Many people were killed to appease these gods, their blood returning into the ground. These pagan religions taught the people that these blood sacrifices were necessary for a good harvest. This seems to be schocking to people living now, but back in those dark times it made perfect sense to ancient peoples.

Some religions promise people a reward (after you're dead) if you help them achieve their goals. Remember the religious leaders never want to commit acts and die for God. They always tell the followers to do it. Some followers fall for it. That's why we had 9/11.

This is a hard question, with a hard answer. Here i might hurt some people that are reading, but i have to say it.
People willing to die for God (as far as I know) are only (i guess) the ones that believe in Allah and read the Koran, the book equivalent to the Bible. Why? Because they are raised in the spirit of Allah, they are raised in the spirit of fanaticism and if the leader of the village or group said to them that Allah has said to him in the dreams that they must die in the name of Allah, they do it. Why do they always have to take as many other people with them as possible ? Because they are mad on the Americans and their allies in the war of anti-terrorism, so in this way they say "If you hurt me, we hurt you too".

Because everyone wants to live for ever. Those willing to die for their god believe that they will live forever in paradise. There is no stronger opponent than the person who believes they are soldiers of their god and will live for eternity with him/her if they die for him/her.

Jesus died for me, and so I am living for him. However, if it came down to the point where I was faced with having to die for Him or renounce my faith in Him, I would rather die for Him. It is in that action that I am more alive. I find my greatest fulfillment in serving him this way.

It is not out of necessity or delusion, but out of love that I do this.

Of course people want to live for God. But can you really LIVE for God if you're not willing to die in His name?

And, in an odd twist of fate, us Pagans today don't really do the whole human sacrifice thing, while it seems to be in vogue with the Abrahamics. ::shrugs:: I prefer the live-and-let-live approach.

god as your question suggests wants for man to live
but why so many think to die in gods name is because its the ,so they think easy way to beat the system ,they reason faulsly that to do evil for god they will despite being evil in deed and in mind go into heaven because they did 'god ' a service.
by thier deeds and love of evil they serve to fullfill thier own evil need.
for the lazy ,they wish to take as many with them thinking faulsly they will get credit from god or failing that from some fictitious under world authority
god as you would seem to be well aware of wants us to live well and to if not do good at least not cause evil to be done
god wants us to of freewill give thanks ,to live well because we enjoy to do good ,to appriciate the gifts given freely to all of his/her creation
then at our next rebirth into eternal spirit to have the fruits of our good
but also of freechoice the fruits of our evils.
we choose of freewill , i can just add thank you lord
and thank you for your question ,it may help someone sometime,
living for god what a great way
bless us all.,and god bless you all.

Indoctrination. Ever see the stuff they do to Palestinian kids? Jihadist Poetry, posters of kids who blew them selves up. It makes the Hitler Youth look like a bunch of misguided boyscouts.
