Hi Granny

Here is an action plan and remedies to use.

Causes
Crohn's disease can be caused by a variety of factors, including poor diet and nutrition, food allergies, imbalanced levels of hydrochloric acid, impaired immunity, infections, lack of exercise, "leaky gut" syndrome, pharmaceutical drugs, and stress.

Quick Action Plan for Crohn's Disease
1. Diet is of primary importance. Avoid all sugars, refined flour products, and carbohydrates, milk and dairy products, processed foods that contain preservatives and artificial sweeteners, alcohol, hydrogenated and trans-fatty oils, as well as foods that are common allergens.

2. Emphasize organic, fresh vegetables and non-citrus fruits, organic grains, as well as organic, free-range meats and poultry and wild-caught fish.

3. Drink plenty of pure, filtered water throughout the day.

4. Enema containing butyric acid two to five times a week. (Add one tablespoon of butyric acid to one quart of warm water.)

5. Supplements with vitamin A, beta carotene, vitamin C, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and zinc, taken with a multivitamin/multimineral formula. Essential fatty acids, especial omega-3 oils, are also recommended.

6. Stress reduction through the use of various mind/body medicine techniques, such as biofeedback, hypnotherapy, meditation and relaxation exercises.

7. If you smoke, stop and if you are currently taking aspirin or other NSAIDs, consider replacing them with safer, more effective natural remedies.

8. Soothing baths two to five nights and alternating hot and cold water packs placed over the stomach and upper abdomen.

9. Juice remedies include aloe juice; wheatgrass juice; cabbage, papaya, and carrot juice; and carrot, beet, and cucumber juice.

10. Juice of half a lemon with warm water, especially in the morning.

11. Allow yourself to receive emotional support to help you embrace some of the common underlying issues identified with Crohn's, such as abandonment, anger, disappointment and rage, which often settle in the gut. Seek out a therapist or other skilled practitioner that can guide you through emotional healing work.

Best of health to you

Cheers

I had crohns early in life(26) and had about 24 inches of small bowel, my acsending large bowel and a couple of inches of the lateral bowel. I was perscribed a couple of meds after that but they just made me feel weird so I quit taking them along with acidic foods and fried stuff esp. deep fried. Of course I cheat but I will then pay the piper. I have since also had diverticulitus(36) for which I gave up the descending colon. Is there a connection? I don't know...I do know that the key (other than drugs and/or surgery) is all about your diet. I would suggest a few lessons with a diet pro. Good Luck

The steroids will have to have cleared the ulcers up so your colonoscopy will have to had been ordinary, all that indicates it that the steroids labored. Your GI will have to have performed the colonoscopy earlier than he positioned you on Steroids. It seems like crohns to me and as a long way a i do know you dont get weight reduction or any bleeding with IBS

I have it under control with a restricted diet. Have you tried an elimination diet? Or anti-spasmodic medication?

Other things that may help: have several sammler meals instead of three large ones. too much mass in the tummy can trigger symtpoms.

Avoid strongly spiced food or foods with lots of acid. Sour gummies and wasabi can be bad.

Good luck!

I go the alternative medicine route, I take L Glutamine, Cats Claw, Slippery Elm. I feel better then stop taking it and fall back in trouble. There is loads of natural medicine, it is finding what works for you. And of course diet is key, finding out what upsets and what helps, seems it is a trial and error process. Best of luck.

I just put up with the pain I get from it every now and then.

None of the treatments they have at the minute can cure it, just slow down its progress.

Because of that I'd rather enjoy myself now rather than stick to what they tell me to do and be miserable now, all for a few extra years of suffering later on.
