What exactly does petite mean, like with clothes and all?

Petite means short. It used to mean small and short in clothing but the industry has changed because just because a person is short doesn't mean they are a size 6. So today you can find clothing in size 20 petite for someone who is short but not small. All stores and clothing makers have varied size guidelines anyway. One size in Penny's may be another size in G.Fox...they are all different.

It means that the sleeves, pants, and shirts are all shorter than the regular clothes. I think the pants generaly have a 30" inseam.
Of course, if you are small enough to be looking at the petites (like me), you will find that the petites section is not petite enough.

It just means people that are thin or on the short size of clothes.

Clothes for women who are 5ft4 and under. It does not mean clothes for a smaller frame or smaller figure. Petite clothes come in all sizes. HTH : )

it's french for small. When we say someone is petite it means their small framed. Petite clothes have shorter legs and arms so they don't have to be hemmed.

It means for those of us who are under 5'4''. Better for us on the sleeve length and hem.
