I just had my gb removed last Friday, laproscopically. I was only under for about 30-45 minutes. When I woke up my belly button hurt (they make one of the incisions there) but the others don't at all. They are all so small.
I still am sore and bruised (I bruise really easy) but I went to work Thursday, so I wasn't out even a week. (I'm a graphic designer so pretty much a desk job but at a high-energy place!) I went under at 10am and was home by 2pm and felt fine, even cleaned the house a little (and I am a BABY!) I relaxed over the weekend and Monday and Tuesday, prepared to go back to work on Wednesday and was still a little too sore to sit still for 8 hours. But I went in Thursday and today and felt great! I have had no digestive problems at all except a little constipation from the anasthesia and pain killers, but I ate out at lunch, no pain or problems like diarreah. I'm not as hungry as I used to be, but that's not a bad thing! I've still had 3 meals today.
Some tips for recovery, hold a pillow on your stomach when you sit up or stand up, cough or sneeze or laugh. Roll out of bed instead of pull yourself out. That has been a huge help!!!
Good luck! It really is night and day difference for me. I know it will help you too!

Gall Baldder surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her Hernia and Gall bladder surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.
Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange Gall bladder, Appendix and Laparoscopy surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as Hernia, Gall bladder, appendix and other minimal invasive surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

No more than 2 weeks. I had mine out a couple years ago and I was out 2 weeks. It's a pretty simple surgery. Your left with 4 very small incisions. Best of luck to you.

I had mine out and the next day I was on the floor playing with the kids.
If you get it out on a Thursday you should be back at work by Monday.
