since humans seem to congrgate at boundaries, it would be part of our inherent nature; like your belief in a religion or a soul; it's part of who we are; unless you are detached from your faith

Would you suggest we live underground? Humans require water to live so naturally early civilizations grew up around river basins. Costal areas offer mild climates and a large food source.
Why do you have to attribute a simple to understand concept to God?

good question. i don't know if it would have spiritual significance or not, but I would guess that because of the nature of the human mind that because we have the idea that "the grass is always greener on the other side..." we would tend to go to the physical boundaries...

I would like to see someones connection to any spiritual significance

or maybe its becouse things that dont mix look attractive in the way the resist mixing.
or maybe they like being around these areas becouse if there next to things that resist melting in other things that they wont melting into other people.
or maybe i have no idea.

symbolically it is the heaven and earth thing
the spiritual with the physical
water is often seen as symbolising spirit whilst the earth symbolises man

Ever notice, no matter how fast you go, you can never make it to the horizon line.
Why do we try, human spirit and imagination.
