Now, I am probably going to sound preachy here, but I feel compelled to answer this question.
If you get dumped because you won't have sex, what does that say about the commitment factor? If you take sex out of the relationship, what is left? Do you have more in common than an interest in each other's anatomy? Does your chemistry extend beyond the physical?
I recently heard this statement made by a speaker, "opposites attract when it comes to interests. Opposites do not attract when it comes to Character. You get what you are." If you have high standards, shouldn't you demand the same from someone that you would potentially like to spend the rest of your life with?
On the other side, if you don't respect yourself and you are willing to lower your standards, you can pretty much expect the same from your mate/boyfriend.
I hope this helps! You can only have a first time one time. That goes for the literal (virginity) or if you want to apply it to a new relationship.

What kind of high standards? Like I will not have sex with you because you are not good enough or I will not have sex with you because I am saving myself for marriage. If it was number one then the guy should kick the girl to the curb...number two and he would be a lousy asshole that you don't need to be with any way.

If a guy dumps you because you said no sex, you are better off. You need someone who will respect you and your wishes. I know guys who do respect women when they say no. If a woman is not comfortable and doesn't want to have sex, then they should be respectful and don't make her feel guilty or make her feel bad about it.

If they dump you...they weren't worth having sex with in the first place.
Set a standard for yourself because you respect yourself....if a guy doesn't like it....too bad for him.

I prefer a g/f who says no. I don't believe in sex outside of marriage or other life-long commitment. The way I see it, if a guy "loves" a girl so much that he wants to have sex, then he can put a ring on her finger. If she isn't worth that, then he isn't worth it either. :)

I'm a guy, and I would respect a girl who's saving herself for marriage.

If they don't really like you, they dump you. If they like you, they wait.
