Because all the great artist work for themselves now.
During the Renaissance the only ones who had any money where the nobles and the church, so it was really the only place to get any work.

It is much more into science now. Science has now conclusively proved the impossibility of the theory of Evolution. Although anybody but a monkey head could have known that before, without science, anyway.

Certain things could only have come into existence instantly, all parts in place at once, without any place for preparation. It's just too embarrassing. As is common with scientists they try to ignore the facts which contradict what they are trying to prove.

Maybe they are turning to art?

At one time ALL Art was religious art, sponsored by the wealth of organised religion. Religion is emotive, it does not carry any superiority because it has `holy` content, indeed apart from some notable works of genius, I would argue that secular art is superior to `church` art. As for religious literature, without doubt it is all inferior to secular art, illuminated manuscripts are wonderful artworks, but the literary content is poor, and even the Bible with its countless flaws is a scrappy piece of work.

Nihlistic art is prized today. If art has a whiff of the spiritual soul, it is junk in the media, to the elite, to the intellectuals.

I agree with you. People of faith have produced and produce awesome art. However, they are not politically correct.

Society functions on popular ideas, like, well, I won't go there.

Hey bud, make the case, over and over. Support good people!! It makes a difference. That is why I am here.

It does but, the secular world does not want to see it. Also I think we are using up all of our creativity. Have you noticed that it's hard to catch a good original movie these days? There are no good operas being written even some of the t.v shows and movies are repeats of what someone has already done.

Oh, it isn't always. I would rank Michael W Smith's composition "Agnus Dei" alongside many ancient hymns. And Salvadore Dali's religious works are certainly soaring and ambitious pieces.

Art reflects life.

All the efforts of man today go into glorifying men.

God has been pushed into the background.

Frankly, I think that a lot of art now is cliched and cheesy. It's not just Christian art. Cliched and cheesy art is really "in".But of course, that's just my opinion.
