Im from USA, just serve me up an iced down American classic. Bud, Miller, Coors etc. They taste great, you can drink as many as you want and not get as full as the darker beers, and best of all they dont have some rediculous name.

So pop a top, crack a can, just dont make we wait too long, I'll have anything domestic light and cold

Go to a specialist beer shop that stocks all kinds of beers from around the world. Tell the owner that you are new to beer and want to try a cross-section. Treat yourself to 24 different beers. Make notes as you taste them. Once you have found your favourite, go back and tell the owner which you liked, and let him recommend similar ones.

Coming from a girl's perspective, I prefer to drink something light and that doesn't taste like i'm ingesting a lot of calories, even if i am. So with that in mind, i'd recommend Bud light. Miller light has an after taste. And Keystone Light tastes what you can imagine to be beer watered down. (: Have fun!!

A few that I like are Young's Double Chocolate Stout, Pyramid Apricot Ale, Mirror Pond Pale Ale, and Mac and Jack's African Amber Ale.

My husband's favorites are Full Sail Amber and Arrogant Bastard Ale.

Blue Moon with a splash of OJ and/or Orange slice

Best tasting beer hands down.

And I work for the Corona, Fat Tire, and Newcastle distributor, not the Blue Moon distributor.

In the Summer -- Sam Adams Summer Ale -

also Guinnis is very good - to be drank slow and to be tasted - very good.

In colder days I think Sam Adams Lager - and close second Killians Red.

Excuse the spelling

Berns

If you've never had beer before, start with a Corona. With a lime wedge. It goes down easy.

My personal favorite is Newcastle. It's darker, but oh so good....

If you can get it, Rochefort, a beer from Belgium. It is made by the Trappist monks. I think they export it now, or they have a commercial version made using their traditional methods.

It has 8 or 9 degrees -alcohol- so be careful.
