If they are not all that old, they are o.k. to use. They won't do any harm, just might not be quite as effective (but probably will). Medication like antidepressants are good for at least 7 years. The date they put on there is just a date. If you no longer use the meds, maybe someone you know does. I don't like to see expensive medicine thrown away.

You should check to see if your pharmacy has a drug recycling program or if you town has a waste disposal depot for drugs. Flushing them is not good for the environment.

good question, i just hold on to mine, might need them in the future, im definately not giving them back to the pharmacist, after spending the money.
