The modern Christian movement in America, for instance, has been very vocal in politics. Here is a brief list of any number of reasons why people become angry at Christians:
1.They want to force religion in the class room and dump science
2.They want to censor TV more so then it is rather then just shut if off or do the censoring themselves
3.Their churches are tax exempt but are allowed, in many cases, to influence politics, education, and employment.(Do search histories on this if you don't believe me)
4.They seek to change the constitution and have strived to do so on many occasions so that it better reads into their own beliefs on various topics and concerns
5.Because they are the majority, they seek to silence the minority
6.Pat Robertson, Fred Phelps, Jerry Falwell, and, well, do I need to say more?
So, how is it that Christians act like victims and don't understand why their is so much animosity torward them? Are they that blind to what their cause does?

I asked my self this many times before then know that a member of the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington DC was also a Priest at an Episcopal church here in DC and much loved by his congregation and the community gay and straight. Sadly he retired and moved to Martha's Vineyard...we still haven't forgiven him for it.
I would like to digress for a moment to address some one who said that gays wanted to change the constitution...umm we don't want to change the constitution the right winggers do, Focus on the family, Bush, Santorum, The family Association, they're the one pushing the gay marriage ban ammendment.
Any way back to topic. I have said this many times and I have recieved a lot of flack for it but I will say it again. Those Christians who carry on so blindly treat religion like a drug and they're addicts. Most of them shows signs on addictions. It's trully sad to see them perversing religion as such. they need it to keep going their lives are not the same with out it. Afterall how can you cling on to something all your life then suddenly confronted with hard facts that contractict what you know to be true?

1. The Roman Catholic Church doesn't seek to 'dump science', nor does it seek to force religion into the class room. The Church is very accepting of scientific discoveries. The Church is also one of the strongest supporters of religious freedom and tolerance.
2. The majority of Christians are not seeking to censor TV. The Christians who are trying to censor television are Fundamentalist members of the Religious Right. The majority of Christians do not belong to the Fundamentalist vocation.
3. True, Christianity has influenced politics. However, when Christians attempt to influence the political process, we're not trying to convert everybody to Christianity. We're attempting to outlaw abortion and euthanasia, which are things we disagree with, as we believe that only God can take and give life. Again, only the Fundamentalists are seeking to influence education and employment, not the Christian majority.
4. This is essentially the same as number three.
5. We're not seeking to silence the minority. We're simply trying to have our own voices heard, even if we are the majority.
6. Adolf Hitler, Heinrich Himmler, the Gestapo: does this make all Germans bad people? Absolutely not! Likewise, just a few radical Christians seek to make Christianity their Christianity doesn't mean all Christians are bad people.
I'm perfectly aware of why there is so much animosity towards us and our faith: people irrationally generalize. Pat Robertson is Christian, so all Christians are religious nuts like him, too, you say. Wrong!

Your stereotyping Christians.
1) No ones "forcing" anything in the classrooms or dumping science. Rather, it is the non-Christian who is "forcing" THEIR opinions down societies throat!
2) Why do little children need to be subjected to nudity, profanity, and violence when simply trying to watch television? Yes, they can turn it off but that defeats the purpose. Why should TV only be for adult viewing?
3) How does the "church" itself influence politics? I don't understand your reasoning here?
4) I have heard nothing about Christians wanting to change the Constitution. In fact, their trying to uphold it when liberals try to change it.
5) No ones trying to silence the minority. If they do that is not acting as Christians are taught to by Christ Himself.
6) Pat Robertson, Fred Phelps and Jerry Falwell are NOT the spokespersons for Christianity. they may say something off-the-wall but that doesn't speak for all Christians as a whole.
Christianity is the best thing for any society. Granted, we are not seeking a Theocracy. Morally it would unity people and bring about peace had people taken serious the words of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Your question is a good one, but you have a lot of misconceptions and generalizations. Christians could say the same things about liberals. what is their cause doing? Protecting unborn children and the sanctity of marriage. No christians want to dump science either, but many public schools teach evolution like religion, and there should be some optional alternative. There is such a thing as a christian who is a scientist, or evolution with creation. Christians don't want to sensor t.v. for themselves they want to sensor it for children, b/c they along with others see how dangerous it is to expose children to violence, sex, lying, cheating, drugs, etc. at such a young age. The point is christians lobby for their causes just like anyone else, but the reason you ask this question is because out of everyone christians and their belief including a high moral standard are some of the only things not tolerated in the United States.

Modern Christian Movement. Thats a new one !!! The Christian Movement has been on the Move since the beginning of time. Every thing in America is based on Christianity. So why is that so difficult to accept. Is there someone or something that plans to change that ?? Your in America. You need to know what is going to be. We don't act like victums. And we are not going to be victums. The American Constitution is based on Christianity. We are not trying to silence anyone. We just want everyone to know what is right and what is wrong. Christians are not blind. They walk in the light and try to help all the people see the LIGHT !!

You haven't said anything yet, so why would anyone want you to say more? The only thing that you have shown is that you are a mimic, and you are without original thought or ideas. You might not know it, but you are probably capable of much more, so why not ask a legitimate question and see if it makes you stand a little taller?

People who are angry with Christians don't have a relationship with God that created them. These people do not read the Holy Bible and don't have a spiritual understanding; and no wisdom and no discernment about the Truth of God.
People who are angry with Christians do not really know what is right and what is wrong. These people believe that they are good and they don't need anybody telling them otherwise. They don't believe in heaven and hell. They don't have God's standard, they are disrespectful of God.
And many, many more reasons--- One thing sure is these people who dislike Christians do not believe that apart from God, they are spiritually dead.

Because some Christians do not have the desires and thoughts that you mentioned. Those people feel very upset when they are hated and pushed around.Others may act like this because they like attention and love to whine "Bwa!I 'm oppressed!!!!"

True Christians are not like the ones you described. True followers of Jesus do not force themselves on anyone. And they do not get involved in politics. Jesus said that his followers are "no part of the world." See John 15:19.
