Ok, now stay with me here.

If you are a part of a religion, christianity, catholocism, Islamic, whatever, how do you know you aren't a member of a cult?

Really, how do you know christianity isn't just the worlds most successful cult? How do we know that some old guy wrote it in hopes of starting a following? Look at it this way: we are told how to act, asked to give money, have rituals (blood of the lord, etc), given an enemy (pagans), told we will go to hell if we don't follow the rules...See? And there are a lot of contradictory things in the bible. And we celebrate christmas on a Pagan Holiday and use pagan things (the tree, red and green, gifts)! There is no concrete, scientific, hold-in-my-hand evidence that God existed! And how is (whatever your religion is) suppose to be right and the others, wrong when those of all the OTHER religions are thinking the same way?

This is something I would just like everyone to think about, REALLY think about. Put aside everything you were taught, how you were raised, and THINK.

Don't post on here if you are just going to tell me that I am sacriligious or that the evidence is in "life itself". There IS no evidence. Because "life itself" could just be a bunch of atoms combined.

SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY!!!

Tyler: Er....sure.

Elena: ah well, thank you.

Stevie: indeed. Completely pointless.

Vicsikix: Actually, yes I do. I READ the bible. There is more evidence of erm, DINOSUARS which were BEFORE humans, than any actual concrete evidence, but if you have some proof, send me the link, seriously.

Hayden: Loads of thanks!

Nikki: I said NO BIBLETHUMPERS! Don't preach to me hun. WHY, I ask you, are people allowed to suffer, GOOD people? And what if you were born in some forest, never did any bad? Do you go to heaven? NO! because guess what? you don't know cult.

Lupee: I do believe with you there. I touched in Pagan. I still follow many of the things, like appreciating all nature.

James. Thank you. You just said something I should have. I do believe there is a higher power. Just not any of the rubbish they are giving us.

Chris J: ah indeed. Paganism is a MUCH more accepting religion. I agree with you there. Paganism, if I HAD to be part of a relgion, it would be that one.

Steve: Oh, dont even get me started on the government.

Clevergirl: I admire your abiltiy to believe uncondtionally in your religion. However, there are many churches that exploit (mine did). And no, the definition of a cult is a group created to control, for power. Think about how much power religious leaders have. Even the pope could have raped and no one would suspect him. how's THAT for unfair.

Tm101: Thank you and thank you again.

ED SNOW: WONDerfully stated. You have just summed up the entire catholic cult.

AGAIN: SERIOUS ANSWERS. DON"T DEFEND CATHOLOCISM OR CHRISTIANITY. THIS IS JUST FOR YOU TO PONDER!!!! NO BIBLETHUMPERS!!!

Get them young, get inside their heads, scare the **** out of them, tell them about Devils and Hell, reject Science, adopt superstition, believe a book before plain common sense, become afraid of criticising the Holy book with its Holy Saints and Holy Priests, become dependent on fiction to make yourself complete, despise other religions but with a smile on your face, ignore all doubts, feed your psychosis, do what they say , not what you think, pass the plate and stay on your knees!

I thought cults were only places that exploit people for their own good, and often like, rape them or torture them all in the name of the Gods. I'm a Christian, I give money to the church because you know, I like having heating in it and a cup of tea after the service and thats where my money goes. The church doesn't get anything out of it, I mean I know in the past they have, but you have forgotton all the times where people would be murdered for being a christian (still happens today). Besides, I'm happy, what's it matter if it's a cult or a cruel trick or anything, I am a very happy person and I'm living my life the way I believe God wants me to - so I'm not stealing or murdering or sleeping around, and surely, whether or not there is a God, surely I'm doing more good then harm in living my way. In all seriousness, what does it matter to anyone else?

That's why I don't belong to an organized religion but most religions agree on there being one form of a higher power and that's the part I agree with. You can still believe in God without relying on the bible, church, or organized religions...

I was brought up in the Catholic (cult) now I feel happier as a pagan but not heavily ; I just appreciate the world I live in, sunrises, wildlife etc... It's easier on the spirit

because i am the so called enemy (pagan)

because our religion is free. noone gives or makes any money from my grove(coven)

we encourage people to invite their family members to our meetings, and encourage string family ties.

we encourage people to study other religions and learn as much as they can about other people.

we encourage people to think out of the box and to question authority.

we discourage religious harearchies.

i do not believe that my religion is the only correct path. it is just the correct path for me. i have probally led more people to the christian faith than i have to my own. because i try to help people to find god, or gods. no matter what one they wish to believe in.

The only cult I'm in is the family cult. I've made my beliefs known here before, so it's no surprise to tell you I think all religion is superfluous .....

I fully agree with you.
To clevergirl. Just because we aren't religious, doesn't mean we are out and about, raping and murdering... remember the KKK.....
