My daughter misses him so much and I though an extra "bed teddy" would help her get through the grieving process. Has anyone done or heard of anything similar?

That made me giggle so much! I seriously hope it was meant to? It'll be all cold and stiff, and it'll probably be looking at you with it's tongue ready to snap off! Awww....

No, I've never heard of anything like that, and I would NOT advise doing it. Get your daughter a new puppy, and/or get her a stuffed dog, thats a toy and was not a real dog.

No, obviously not. it really is a rustic with human beings doing accepted issues and attempting to stay good lives for the most area. we are all in basic terms people making our way by existence. We would communicate in yet differently and performance different tastes particularly issues, yet below all of it we are very similar. inspite of geography.

Sorry, that is just WRONG! Doing that may be detrimental to her grieving process. Getting a new dog may help her to accept Dandy's passing better.

I personally feel that is a bit morbid, and your daughter may have nightmares. Perhaps find a stuffed toy dog. Or have a picture of him framed and put it on her nightstand instead.

Did you know (even though I realize your question is made up) that Build-A-Bear stores will fill a bear with your animal's ashes if you have it creamated? I saw it on the news. I don't think they advertise it, but when your dog really dies and you really have a kid, you can really do it if you have a store near you.

Alan Alda released a book recently entitled "Never have your dog stuffed".....click the link above to read about it. His father actually DID have their dog stuffed!! This book is hilarious!! But follow his advice, and NEVER have your dog stuffed!!

im not sure if the effect on your daughter of having her beloved dead dog in her bed at night would be a positive one, its a cliche but time really is a healer, she will accept it in time, also surely time is a factor in these kind of issues, so whatever you decide do it fast or you wont have much to work with!
