I hadn't thought of it that way but I think you're right. They're treated like slaves. Store owners and business managers take advantage of them and treat them like trash, and are constantly threatening and offensive. It's really unfair for them.

this answer is really for adriana...............
the unfair situation would be as fallows...............
i make $20/hour as a lead framer for a home builder.that is barely enough to give my daughter a good life.we live comfortable, but not to the point there are no worries.
now the unfair situation would be.........i can be fired at any given moment and replaced with an illegal that can do what i do,as far as work, for half the wage or less.what then?my little girl would then have a daddy without a job and no way to provide for her.
now i ask u,adriana............is that fair to my child?
or maybe it could be u in that situation.would that be fair?sit back and think about it for a while.
now to the question..............
no i dont think they are like slaves, they are free to go back to where they came from anytime they want.now will they?problably not.oh well, who am i?but just a hard working american citizen that pays his taxes and dosen't live on welfare.

1. Tattle on the businesses that hire illegals.
2. Force the government to enforce the law.
3. If they don't come in with obviously fake stickers that say INS and yell raid. Make sure that INS stands for something else (besides technically the org is now BICE, the Bureau for Immigration Control and Enforcement) If you get hasseled, remember that you are an undocumented immigration enforcement agent.

Unsavory: Coyotes, 50 people to a van, 500 people to a semi, desert tunnels, no water, disease, no medical insurance or dental insurance, and millions waiting on your job at half the pay.
If we allow more immigration of unskilled labor, we will have the equivalent of slavery, there's no doubt what we have in the US is a low-level indentured servitude.

I guess because I didn't show up on the shores of their country(ies) and take them hostage to work for me in a field picking crops and such, then no. They're called illegal immigrants for a reason: they immigrated here (which implies a voluntary action or choice) but the did so illegally. Slaves were taken against their will which is illegal, illegal immigrants are here against our will, again illegal. The first time it was our fault, this time it's theirs.

In a way, we are taking advanage of them being such hard workers, and them being so appreciative, but of course, someone has to do all the farming. Just as long as we dont abbuse them, then I think it is okay. But I still think it is wrong in most ways. But they need money. Hmmm... it just keeps going and going... doesnt it...? Just my oppinion. Hope this helps. Peace out. Laterz Luv/Kodi
Oh yeah, and actually slavery that happend long ago, was, much, much worse then this because they have a choice to do it and they arent treated horribly.

No. Because alot are working for themselves. They voluntarily came and wanted to work for cheaper wages in order to get the work. They know deportation is always possible and choose to do it anyway. There's alot that don't work at all. So no.....they aren't slaves. They are free to quit and move on anytime they want.

No walmart employee are the modern slaves, economic slaves.
In the days of the slaves, their masters housed them, feed them, sent a doctor to care for them, they were valued property. So a slave while not free had food to eat, a place to sleep and clothes to wear.
In todays society, no one cares if they eat, if they sleep in thier car or on the street and don't care if they get sick, someone else is just hired.
So todays slave owners are the minumin wage employers.

No they are not. Because slaves are supposed to do what they are told, illegals don't : you tell them to go away and they stay. Also slaves tend to run away should the opportunity arise while illegals do just the opposite: run to you !

People that work for K-Mart,Sears,Wal-Mart, and alike have economic slaves. Their ethnicity is irrelevant. Check out a site that I don't know if it's unbiased
