It means a lot to me

When the world hates you, remember it hated me before it hated you. The world would love you if you belonged to it, but you don't. I chose you to come out of the world, and so it hates you.

Does anyone know its reference?

John 15:17-19---" These things I command you, that ye may love one another If the world hateth you, ye know that it hath hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love its own: but because ye are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you."

This means that the followers of Jesus would be hated and persecuted for their faith. They would be "no part of the world"
meaning they would not involve themselves in politics and have no part of religious systems that were deeply involved in the affairs of the world and that had absorbed doctrines and customs from ancient Babylon, the longtime enemy of true worship. (Jer. 50:29)

John 15: 18-19 18 "If the world hates YOU, YOU know that it has hated me before it hated YOU. 19 If YOU were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because YOU are no part of the world, but I have chosen YOU out of the world, on this account the world hates YOU"

This scripture speaks to me the most cause Jehovah's Witnesses are no part of the world, and everyone have a deep bitter hatred for us cause we are the ONE and ONLY true way.

I looked the verse up on biblegateway.com and this was the result I got:

John 15:19 (New International Version)

19:If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

Hope this helps!

Here is what God's Word says...

John 15:18 -19 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

John 15:18-19:
"18"If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. " NIV

living a true christian life is contradictory to what the world loves. for example, the world loves the lust and all the desires of the flesh, but being a christian means submitting to christ and living a spiritual and holy life, as a result, many people won't like someone who is TRULY devoted to serving and loving Christ>
