Yes, I've been there! Definitely, get a good shiny metal pan to place the steak on (be sure to use a pam spray or something so it doesn't stick to the pan). 400F is a good temperature to put it in at in the middle of the oven. I'd say about 20 minutes to start and go from there depending on how done you want your steak. Good luck!

I don't think you would want to bake it but you can pan fry a steak.
In a hot skillet with a little butter sear the steak to look in the juices. Turn down the heat to medium and cook 4-5 minutes each side for rare, 6-7 minutes for medium and 8-10 for well done. Times are based on a steak that is 1 inch thick.
Add seasonings, salt, pepper or garlic powder to taste and serve.

OK, no one yet has suggested my favorite method which is on the grill over real coals and hardwood chips. It is as easy as starting the coals and getting them hot. Have your sides prepared because you will only need about 20 minutes to cook those size steaks on the grill. I like to rub my steaks both sides with an easy steak rub, season all, salt and pepper or your favorite seasoning. For this and for ease I would say Season-all. Let sit while coals get hot. Once coals are hot and spread out, place your wood chips, or chunks or branches if just cutting off a favorite fruit tree and place on coals. Allow smoke to build up and grate to get hot. Place steaks on grill and sear on both sides. Then cover and allow to smolder over the coals covered for about 5-6 minutes first side and 6-8 or until doness you prefer on the other side. This should prooduce a juicy, medium rare to medium steak that will be hard to beat. If you do not want to mess with the coals, you can similarly prepare on your oven's broiler after seasoning. Similar time also. Hope it turns out great! R (-:

just crank up your oven.

Personally I would get a cast iron skillet and just do them on the stove. Get your pan good and hot, season your steak, add olive oil to your pan (not a lot) and sear! It depends on how done you want your steak. Throw some onions and mushrooms in there too at the last minute. Make sure you have plenty of room in your pan or the juices will come out of the meat and it wont get a good crust. It will just start to stew!

Yes. But first, make sure you tenderize it. then wrap it in foil wrap and put it in a pan that has some water in the bottom of it. Bake it on no higher than 350 for about 20 minutes or until done to your liking. Just keep checking it for doneness.
