Many anti virus programs need a special uninstall program from the vendor.
Look first whether under programs, and program name, you may have an uninstall module.

It shows as running most likely because you (or itself) set it to run on windows startup. So disable this option of you can from within the program itself, then reboot and uninstall.
If it's STILL running, open task manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del) locate it, and terminate. Then try to uninstall.
The last resort is doing it manually, deleting folders and then cleaning up the windows registry, but that's tricky if you are not absolutely sure of what you're doing.

Go to your program files in c drive..find the folder that harbors the offending file and delete the folder. then go to search ....all flies and folders...search for the offending program and delete all files that still come up. Then run a registry cleaner to remove all registry links associated with it.

Three simple steps!
1. Click on your START menu
2. go to Controll Panel
3. Click on "ADD or remove programs"
......this will take you to a list of programs, just keep scrolling down untill you find it, then click on change or remove, it will then give you options and instructions
