why can't I own slaves as Lev. 25:44 states 'Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves'? Why can't we amend the constitution to ban gay marriage and allow Canadian slaves?

I would much rather see someone follow the Beatitudes than the Levitican laws anyday. Not only is there less stress but you eat better. Besides, Wisconsin the the UP are too close to Canada...we wouldn't like being caught in the cross fire.

As I recall from memory, Leviticus says that a man lying with another man as with a woman is an abomination.

In many cultures, homosexuality was dealt with simply with death. In some others it has been institutionalized. In some a homosexual, or woman-hearted man was expected to provide services to men who were unable to consort with women for fear of ritual contamination, say on the eve of a battle.

The big question is why do homosexual people put so much effort into resisting domestic partnership and insist on being classed as normal and allowed to marry? It is just as strange to me as the people who insist on an amendment against it.

Domestic partnership which included such things as a child caring for a parent should be acceptable, because, let's face it, homosexuality is not a normal condition, and even the participants can't agree on what may cause it, some say it is a choice, some say it is genetic, there are other theories as well. But it isn't within the pale of normalcy.

enable's confirm the 'marriage' difficulty: a million)each and each and every state gadgets a minimum age, usually the position one is considered an "human being" and able to enter into agreements and contracts. 2)each and each and every state will save archives in accordance to registration and settlement regulation 3)Marriage must be "privatized" and allowed for all consenting adults, inclusive of gay marriage or perhaps polygamy. religious ceremonies are performed or not in accordance to the married human being (s). 4)each and each and every state does not take a "moral position" and the "marriage" is dealt with less than settlement regulation besides as divorce and different concerns that would ensue with time. The state acts as a list keeper and handles diputes from its courtroom equipment and settlement regulation. isn't that straightforward?

Leviticus is such a fun book to quote. You can't wear sideburns, but it's okay to sell your daughter into slavery. You can't lie with a man, but if your daughter can't prove she's a virgin on her wedding night (there's gotta be blood!!!!) you can take her outside the city gates and stone her to death. Hmmm . . . is it just me, or does this seem a bit . . . well . . . crazy?

Here is what God's Word States...

Lev 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Note that it does not say detestable, it calls it an abomination and that the sodomite should be put to death. It states nothing of marriage among sodomites either.

Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Matthew 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.

Matthew 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

We are called first to love and obey God and His Word. Second to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. In this we are within the law and in grace. If we want slavery are we willing also to be slaves? This is the commandment that Christ gave.

Are you a Levite? Leviticus is simply a book of rules for Levites. Not average Jews and certainly not Gentiles.

Hugs, mate!
