If you feel overwhelmed with sadness the worst possible thing to do is to tell yourself to shut up and keep it inside.
Turn on a warm shower, and just cry. Think about all the things youve bottled up, let them all out.
After you come out of that shower you'll feel so much better.
With that settled, I understand we all come upon sadness in every day life and it is unavoidable. It helps a great deal to just stay positive. I'm not saying be a cheery loving robot, I'm saying keep a positive outlook and things will start to look at least a little better.
Good luck.
And if you feel like you need professional help, try it. It'd probably help you a great deal if your seriously considering it.

It is a very emotional time when you are sad all the time or most of the time....everyone goes through different stages of sadness depending on what is happening in their life... death of a loved one or friend. Divorce, moving away and fights.
You need to speak to a doctor if you are sad for longer periods of time. No one can tell you what to do but it is best to read up on it and see a doc.

Hi Moon Goddess
Are you feeling sad often. Hugs to you. But really talk with a doctor about this. The right diagnosis will make for the correct treatment which will bring a whole new world to you.
All the best

Volunteer work with others in worse situations than you. You can cuddle preemie babies at hospitals, read stories to bedridden patients, take cookies to a lonely widow, take some ignored children to a movie. The service will make you feel needed and wanted and build self esteem, and you will realize more blessings in your own life. AND you make new friends and try new things, so that distracts you from sad thoughts. If all else fails, see a doctor for help.

I hang around my friends and we talk about up funny and up lifting subjects after I have had a good cry.
When I have to be alone, I try to keep busy or go for a walk in on a pretty street or in the park until I can handle it again.
