Easy! The simplest way to create another user just for your son and set the security settings on that account to limited user. Then change the properties in Internet Explorer select content filtering and have sex, violece, language, and drugs blocked. The change will only affect the one user profile. Be sure to set a password that he won't be able to guess for your user profile. If you don't want the computer to be accessable at all to him then create one user account, password protect it and don't tell him what it is. You can create and edit user profiles through the control panel and as far as your browser goes, there should be a "tools" and when you open that up go to internet options and the select the content tab and enable content filtering. This will allow for the child to go online and have all the "dirty" stuff inaccessable. Another great option is third party parental control software that may cost you $20 but then you can just password protect internet use period. Hope this helps!

The only way to child proof your computer is to put a password on it, if you leave it on. And when your at home with your son, you can let him go on it, and then every hour or two hours check in on him and see what he is doing. There are alto of websites that are not suitable for children to be viewing.

ok i dont know how much this will help
but my mom sort of did the same thing

im 13 tho

i was staying hoem sick and she cut off the internet
well i knew exactly what she did and i got it workign again
she was mad but hasnt done that since

my advice would be to explain to him how dangerous the internet is.

or set him up a account

or password protect your computer(careful with that one two, because if your son is clever and knows you wicekd good, he might be able to break you password, i broke moms)

just talk with him

and if you really dont want him on it, then jsut tell him that and leave your computer in a way that you will knew he went on it

like put a paper under the keyboard or somethign so that if it moves you can tell

hope this helps

Wen you say 'child-proof' I assume you mean cutting off access completely (as opposed to simply controlling his access).

If that's the case, you enable password-protected log in (and disable any guest accounts) so that only a password holder can be authenticated for use.

If you're not sure how to do that with your operating system, you can either search the help function built into your OS, or google "user password windows xp" or whatever your OS is.

Best to you.

Make accounts for every child you have, purchase security software like Norton 360, and install it on your computer. To monitor the websites and content that is being viewed, you can purchase a internet router (most have security capabilities) to also block as many web sites as you want.

why shouldn't your son get on the internet?
don't child proof, just educate and hope that your child will make good decisions, or at least learn from his mistakes.

unplugging the keyboard won't work, there is an on-screen keyboard he can use. Take the power cord with you before you leave in the morning. That's what my dad always did.
