There are a TON of cute beds for toddlers that use crib mattresses. Anyone know where to buy something similar that uses a twin mattress instead? I'm looking for under $200 without mattress.

The only one I can find is the Step 2 race car bed that comes for either crib or twin mattresses, but it's not really what I want. I'd like a wood one similar to this (doesn't have to be a sleigh bed):

Thanks!

I'm keeping an eye on craigslist and I've checked Target, IKEA and Walmart already.

Where to buy a toddler-style bed with twin mattress?? The best place to buy Toddler Beds online is at Amazon.com who have a huge range and can have them delivered direct to your door.

Here are many options when it comes to buying toddler beds. Some beds are more fun and creative, such as a race car bed. Some beds may convert to bigger beds once the child reaches a certain height or weight.

Some families may need portable toddler beds for traveling out of town, and sometimes if the budget isn’t big, a plastic toddler bed can be purchased.

These often have characters on them or can be shaped like cars or trucks. Most toddler beds can be used with an existing crib mattress, but a new mattress could also be purchased if desired to go into the toddler bed.

Instead of driving all over town to find the perfect toddler bed, use the internet to see a wide variety of toddler beds in all materials, shapes, and sizes. The perfect bed may be available within a few clicks, and it will arrive right at the door, and ready to be put together.

If you need to use the mattress to the crib, then you may as well move to a twin bed. The benefit of the toddler bed is that it is close to the floor and you can use the crib mattress, saving you money. If you are going to purchase a twin bed you may want to consider buying a top bunk bed. I did this for my son when he was two years old. It is closer to the floor and has a board underneath it so you do not need a box spring, just the mattress. The other great thing about his is that is was made of two by fours and was very sturdy. He is now 16 and moved up to a double bed last year, so we got our moneys worth out of the bed. If you really need to save money, purchase a toddler bed and use the same mattress from the crib and later buy and new crib mattresses for the new baby.

Look on Ebay, I bet they'll have one for ya there. You will also spend less on Ebay than in a store. If all else fails, buy a regular twin sleigh bed(or whatever) and get a rail to put on the side of the bed, You can find them on Ebay too, but also at your local department or childrens store.

The only bed they make for a twin mattress is a twin bed, unless like you said that race car bed. If you want a wood one then you'll have to get a regular twin bed.

Try Like ToysR'Us or BabiesRUs. Or even if you don't mind hand me downs check to local garage sales or Craiglist.org. I found my daughters on Craigslist in GREAT condition for really cheap. They don't really use them long enough to wear out
